We have cleared grassy paddocks, some shady areas, and access to the Colo River, one of the most pristine rivers in NSW. Our river access is normally shallow, well suited to young families or those who just want to lay back and enjoy a quiet refreshing dip with a beverage or two. Amazing sunrises, sunsets, and star gazing are provided free of charge along with bird watching, local wildlife, and horses in surrounding paddocks. We offer limited sites to comply with NSW Camping legislation and Hipcamp guidelines and to enable campers to experience the Colo as it should be, listening to the beautiful wildlife and really appreciating the outdoors. Sites are large spaces with varying distance between sites to enable you to enjoy the camping experience in your own space. Both paddock sites and limited beside the river spots are available. If you are planning to stay with friends and you wish to share a site only 1 booking is required, the sites are large, some up to 30m x 30m. (Saturday night 2 night minimum) Pets are allowed on a case-by-case basis, please check with Hosts prior to booking, as conditions and a charge applies. Please ADD EXTRA at checkout for dogs... $20 per dog per visit There is no mobile reception or internet access, therefore, providing a true off-grid retreat. Self-sufficient campers are preferred. There are fire drums available on each site, most with grill plates - subject to RFS bush fire danger ratings on the day. There are three communal flushing toilets and two awesome hot water showers! ALL waste is to leave with you! There are local bush walks through National Parks and great places for mountain bike riding although be mindful of holiday traffic in peak times on our local dirt roads. The local shop, Colo Riverside is open 4 days a week Thurs-Sun, just 10kms up the road providing last-minute supplies, ice, bottle shop, and cafe services. Please note: Due to our location bookings may be canceled at short notice in times of bad weather due to flooding, limited access, fire or flood warnings. There are a few great campsites to choose from- one at the top of the property (good for families/large groups up to approx 20) with good flat ground and surrounded by a lush forest. It's close to the road so it is easy access in and out, another two at the back with water views and one in the forest (If you have 4wd and portable loo we can give you an exclusive spot in the bottom of the golden gorge). Enjoy the sounds of the bubbling stream and see the sunset at the waterhole. Sit back and relax around the campfire whilst toasting a marshmallow or some damper. This campsite offers a unique heptagonal toilet (no shower yet but its on the way). Please ensure you're fully self sufficient with all other supplies (including water). From here you can explore the amazing Blue Mountain views, marvel at a magical glow worm dell, check out the 2 apple cider breweries and taste some of the region's delicious produce. Colo River is 30 mins away, a clear waterhole is 10 min drive ( 4wd only- hosts can transport if available), the mouth of a hiking trail to the National Park is on the property, the main township of Bilpin is close by with the baker, fruit and vege picking, Mountain Bells Cafe (host recommendation), apple pies galore and the restaurant , the markets are on Saturday morning 10-12 noon at the local hall and there is a free meditation group 9am Sunday at the monastery. With so much to do you will need more than one night or plan a return visit to the amazing Mountain Lagoon Hideaway at Bilpin! We can also offer massage and reiki treatments on site as a 'nature immersion' experience or if you prefer it can be in the privacy of a massage studio (10 mins away), guided nature and wildlife walks/sunset walks or longer hikes, professional ecology tours, fire twirling lessons or performance and African drumming lessons, games for the kids, local produce hampers, eggs and BBQS (with notice and if hosts are available). Please discuss with your hosts for further details and availability :) PLEASE ensure you read rules and safety as well as directions, because GPS will take you to the wrong property. The land is a nature retreat and developing animal rescue sanctuary so we love to share the space with respectful nature loving people :) Our motto is leave no trace. We offer camping and indoor accommodation. Our property is located on a relaxed 5 acres at the gateway to the Hunter Valley. Enjoy the lush forests and views of the mountain nearby. There's a number of great lookouts nearby if you're up for a walk. The Barn accommodation is great for groups who enjoy the outdoors. Enjoy your outdoor adventure with open living and eco tourism at the foot of the Watagan Mountains. Wildlife and bush tucker walks available. Firewood provided for your indoor fireplace. You will have access to a camp oven and rotating grill, as well as a kitchenette with a fridge, microwave, electric hot plate and kettle. There are toilet and shower amenities, and access to drinking water. There is phone reception in certain spots and limited wifi. There is no TV. The barn can accommodate sleeping for 10+ and features two double beds, two single beds, one couch, two air mattresses and five floor mattresses. There is also a fully equipped gym. You will need to bring your own sheets, pillows, sleeping bag etc for added comfort. Sleeping close to the fire upstairs is recommended in the cooler months. Camping is optional with nice flat spots near the dam under sheoaks. Our campsites are equally as beautiful. Chill out in the shade by the dam during the day. Firewood is provided and you're welcome to use the camp ovens and the rotating grill, but if you get stuck cooking on the open fire there is a microwave, electric hot plate and kettle. These are situated downstairs in the barn a short walk from site. A great swim in the 50m dam. There is access to toilets, showers, drinking water and rubbish facilities. Your furry friend is welcome to holiday with you.

Telstra towers are 5km up and down the road with all mobile reception approx 10km back towards town. There is a fire pit available for use subject to RFS bush fire danger ratings on the day. Firewood is available to purchase at $30 per BIG bag!! ALL WASTE is to leave with you as we do not have a rubbish pick up. A double kayak is available for hire at $70 or stand-up paddle boards at $40 each both for 4 hours. We are happy to help transport you if you wish for an extra $20 to have a paddle or float down the river providing the river is high enough to do so. Guided Kayak Tour available with drinks and nibblies for $120/person with Lovie There are local bush walks through National Parks and great places for mountain bike riding although I'd be mindful of holiday traffic in peak times on our local dirt roads. Guided spotlight walk $20 per person, talk to Lovie. The local shop, Colo Riverside is open 4 days a week just 10kms up the road providing last minute supplies, ice, bottle shop and café. Please note: Due to our location bookings may be cancelled at short notice in times of bad weather due to flooding, limited access, fire or flood warnings. Amazing sunrises, sunsets, and star gazing are provided free of charge along with bird watching, local wildlife, and horses in surrounding paddocks. We offer limited sites to comply with NSW Camping legislation and Hipcamp guidelines and to enable campers to experience the Colo as it should be, listening to the beautiful wildlife and really appreciating the outdoors. Sites are large spaces with varying distance between sites to enable you to enjoy the camping experience in your own space. Both paddock sites and limited beside the river spots are available. If you are planning to stay with friends and you wish to share a site only 1 booking is required, the sites are large, some up to 30m x 30m. CAMP 6 is the very top of the mountain with a long wide strip of cleared area with bush on both sides and a window at the end to the valley below, very private, must be fully contained and would suit most vehicles, may lose traction if pulling a heavy caravan or trailer.

Other must-see's in the area include the Olney State Forest and the Wattagan National Park.The property is located just off a scenic drive, over a 2wd accessible creek crossing. It is peaceful and secluded. Campers can used shared kitchen and bathroom facilities located at the top of the camp area. Dogs are welcome, but as it's a working farm, we ask the remain on leash at all times.
