With over 600 acres of Australian bush, our property is ideal for campers that want their own space. We are completely off-grid (no wifi to distract you) and we run off tank water (for this reason showers are only available for two hours in the evening). There are multiple camp sites on the property - some are close to hot showers and toilets, others are within a short walking distance. Some sites are perfect for our self sufficient campers who might want a nice private location and don't need access to amenities. There are two shared camp kitchen areas (with pizza ovens and bbqs). We have two amenities blocks with toilets and hot showers and two further compost toilets located at other sites. Campfires are permitted in designated areas (check with us when booking) and firewood can be added to your booking - we do require at least 24 hours notice if you want wood. There are lots of old-style games for the kids such as cricket, tennis, playground, bikes available, a swim in the dam and general country running around fun! Unfortunately we no longer have our flying fox, but there are plenty of other activities to keep you busy. We have some great bush walking areas where you might be lucky enough to see our resident wombats or our breeding pair of Wedge-tailed Eagles. The property dates back to the early 1900s and there are numerous historic buildings on the property. The earliest is a wooden slab hut that was built around the beginning of the 19th century - the Goulburn Penny Post newspaper, dated 3 December 1904 lines the walls of the hut. It also has a two shearing stand wooden shed built by Marcus Dawe in 1922. Living in our shed whilst we prepared the garden, put in watering infrastructure and built our house which we finally moved in when our daughter was 6 months old in 1990. Over the ensuing years we have continued to increase biodiversity on the property and set it up so we can live sustainably, harvesting our own water, electricity and food. If your lucky you could get a hamper of our product when there is sufficient in season. With the increased biodiversity you will find that in the mornings and evenings kangaroos and wallabies will visit with the occasional echidna, rabbit and hare; and to forget the large array of bird life - that may wake you early in the morning with the songs. This campsite is set on lovely grassy open areas interspersed with gum trees. The sunrise looks spectacular near the dam, when the trees give off a lovely glow. The main paddock has a Geodome, a shared space for relaxing in. With all that space you can park and set up camp anywhere in the paddock. There is access to drinking water, toilets, and a hot shower. Around the dome is a firepit, drinking water and a camp kitchen. The firepit features an Argentinian BBQ and a plate for cooking. The kitchen has plates, cups, cutlery, and other bits and pieces for you to use. We also allow for your pets to stay onsite, this also includes horses. If you want exclusive use of the paddocks - refer to Group Bush Retreat.

SITE AMENITIES - The camp is best suited to adventurous campers with swags, tents, rooftops, light camping trailers and small popup caravans. There is a flushing toilet, a hot shower, running (dam) water, and firepits but no electricity or refrigeration. We have fire pits available for guests use, please ensure there are no restrictions in place before lighting a campfire in the designated firepit. Firewood is available at additional cost. 3. Explore the creek line, hike up the mountain to the old stone trig point, walk to the swimming hole on the creek with jetty, picnic area and rowboat. Numerous picnic spots. A swimming dam, jetty, and picnic sites are accessible via marked walking and driving tracks. There are also several kms of walking tracks directly from the campsite along Sandhills Creek and the 'mountain paddock'. Owners live further along the road on the property, and can be contacted if needed. A separate AirBnB house is located on the property; please respect the privacy of fellow guests.

Fabulous farm stay so close to canberra. Yifu was lovely, showed us around, took us on an animal tour. The site was lovely and easy to get into and out of. We walked our dogs past the geese and alpacas around his dam. Happily would stay again, such a lovely close by spot.

I cannot get over the view! Gorgeous little camp spot big enough for a big group, plenty of room for the kids to play and then a view that will be seared in your memory for a long time to come! Fun little walk to the best river in the world (The Murrumbidgee of course!). Great host, great views, will definitely be back!

This was a great spot to tent camp, with an accessible, clean and beautiful site. It had toilets that were child friendly, along with a farm tour for the kids (my 5-year-old daughter loved it), and the beautiful dam had Pelicans! Will be coming again.

Was a perfect spot for an overnighter! As a music wedding vendor, I often drive in and out of Canberra in need of an overnight stay that accomodates my strange arrival hours and gives me a spot to pop the rooftop tent and have a quiet one by the fire after a hectic wedding day. Goolabri was just that - popped in on the way through to scope the site, then came back 12 hours later to do just that. The firepit was already prepped for me with some wood and I was able to decompress with a quiet bevvy before jumping into bed. Waking up to the frogs, birds and breeze was a real treat as well as getting great sunny weather to get up to for a coffee and packdown to drive back to Sydney. Toilet was clean and working well (BYO paper). Thanks Dan - will come again!

We were caravaning and had the place to ourselves. There is quite a lot of space and paddocks are mown with a number of options as to where to camp. If we hadn't already setup we would have moved to a spot nearer the BBQ and toilet block. Lovely country feel. Enjoyed it.

We loved camping at Ross and Lisa’s property. The camp sites were well maintained and there was plenty of space available that we barely noticed other campers. Easy to fish along the bank and there were fire pits available for a little fire. Will definitely be going back!
