Firewood included in nightly rate! This cabin site is perfect for guests who'd like to pitch extra tents around the cabin. $15 per person over 4 people.

The Northwest corner of Connecticut is literally overflowing with lakes, mountains, hiking, villages, shopping, eating, caffeinating and movie-going, but where you'll stay is just five minutes and 100 acres away from it all.

Your Cabin:

A quarter mile from our main house, accessible only by foot on a winding hiking trail, is our most secluded and unique location. The Cabin has a screened-in porch, a queen-sized cedar bed, a beautiful stone fireplace and a wood burning stove that throws off tropical-strength heat to completely eliminate cold Northern-Connecticut nights.

The Cabin sits on 30 acres of private land for you to enjoy. While it has no electricity or plumbing, it has a private powder room which includes a clean, comfortable and standard height portable toilet. You’ll have access to usb and battery powered lights, two wooden chairs for relaxing and a marble table with two wooden chairs to eat, play cards, read or work. You’ll also have a five-gallon Igloo pitcher filled with fresh, ice-cold water for your stay. If you’d like to bring little people or additional friends, hammocks and cots are also available. You're welcome to bring personal tents to pitch near and/or around the cabin.

Size: 250 square feet Cabin. 100 square foot screened in porch. 50 square foot bathroom/wood storage.

Communal sunset fire-pit with spectacular views:

Every night we have guests, we’ll light our hand-welded repurposed oil tank fire-pit. Beverages will be made available. Feel free to chat with us, other guests or enjoy the cool breeze and spectacular sunsets.

Hiking trails:

We have 100 acres of deciduous forest to walk in, mountain bike on, and enjoy. Hiking trails throughout.

Outdoor shower:

Shower outdoors surrounded only by cedar. This shower is attached to the main house, so it's not secluded, but is appropriately private.

We had an amazing time in the cabin! If you want to be experiencing nature away from civilization, this is your spot!
Theodore was a wonderful host, very responsive and super helpful.
I would definitely go back there, we stayed 2 nights and we could have stayed twice longer. The place is very relaxing and remote.

Thanks Florent. Loved having you two here. Come up again soon. We're going to stay open for some cold weather campers if you want to come up this fall/winter and gather by our fire.

Amazing experience - completely secluded perfect getaway from the city life. Ted was super helpful and went out of his way to help us get comfortable and address any questions. Made us feel like we were staying in *our* cabin. Instructions and directions were pretty straightforward and easy to follow.

Thanks Harsha. You and your family were great guests. Love to see multi-generational love of the land. Let us know when you're mother-in-law is back again. You all are welcome back anytime, including Mina. Bakso misses her.

This place was a great find! The cabin is very secluded, private, and quiet with a gorgeous view from the screened in porch that you can even enjoy from the comfy bed. We even enjoyed the view sitting on the edge, overlooking the beautiful tree line and countryside below, in front of the fire. It was a little chilly at night so the wood burning stove inside the cabin made it as warm as we wanted and we slept like the dead. It was amazing. Our dog, Charlie, loved roaming free, exploring nature, and just getting to be a dog. There are trails around the property to explore so we never even had to leave this spectacular spot. Ted was a great host! Very interesting guy and a lovely family. He made sure we always had everything we needed and was super laid back. We booked another weekend even before we left and look forward to sharing a beer with Ted next trip!

Some people like absolute solitude, others like company. The cabin is built for both. 30 acres of no one in sight, but a cold beer waiting for you if you decide to make the quarter mile walk back to the main house to say hi. Erin and Dustin were great guests and are welcome here anytime. Love to see you guys at the firepit someday, but if you decide to stay huddled up in the cabin, that's fine too. It was built for you to do (and not do) anything you want.
