Stunning sunset quary view
Staying on Dean and Darlene’s property is nothing short of a magical experience. From the moment you enter the property, you are greeted and given a full tour of this historic land. Dean gave us a few options and let us pick out our camp spot (and even gave us a much needed lesson in backing up our trailer).
The landscape is incredible and very unlike anything that you will find on the east coast. There are beautiful brownstones thoughtfully laid about all over the property, creating private camping areas, with tables and nearby bathrooms. And the landscape opens up to the gorgeous quary view. It is such a unique experience to watch the sunset here.
We were lucky enough to camp here on a Saturday, and we experienced the weekly drum circle. It is open to the community and such a wonderful experience. Everyone is welcome to express themselves and just enjoy the drums. Dean even set up a stunning light display on the 80ft rock walls. I know we will be back to enjoy this again.
On our way out of town we ran into a major issue with our small trailer. Panicked on a Sunday, knowing most mechanics are closed, we called Dean and he showed up not 10 minutes later to rescue us. He had us bring the vehicle back to his property, and laid on the floor in the pouring rain for hours fixing it for us. He even got the necessary parts for it. He saved us a TON of money and time and did it all out of the kindness of his heart.
We will absolutely be returning!
