Windy Hollow Farm is an off-grid educational farmstead. Bryce, Ben, and Jennifer will all be around as your hosts.

COVID Updates: The yellow cabin is available for rental on its own or with the red cabin for shared households/social bubbles (see our Windy Hollow Farm Camping Cabin listing; red cabin is not available for renting on its own); we kindly ask that guests follow face mask and physical distancing protocols in local businesses and on public lands/beaches/trails. Cabins will be vacant for a minimum of 48 hours between guests.

Our farmstay cabins are hand-built with simple amenities. There is an outdoor composting toilet, and an enclosed outdoor shower with hot water is located a short walk from the cabins, near the main farm house. The kitchen cabin is close by and equipped with a cookstove, mini-refrigerator, and pots/dishes/utensils. The yellow sleeping cabin has a woodstove and firewood is provided. There is a queen-sized bed downstairs and a full-size folding futon in the sleeping loft. Linens and towels are provided.

Families with small children should note that the cabins are next to a small pond. The cabin is cozy and best suited for individuals, couples or families with small children. Groups of 3+ adults (depending on sleeping arrangements), or families with older children, might want to consider reserving both sleeping cabins. Parking is approximately 300' from the cabins; a marked trail leads directly to the cabins and a wagon is available for schlepping stuff.

FYI - some folks have shared photos or mentioned the cob pizza oven down by the greenhouse/fire pit. Please note that we only use the pizza oven for events/workshops and it's not available for use by cabin guests.

The cabin was clean and vary cozy with big windows looking out onto trees and sky. The tidy kitchen had everything needed to cook basic meals. And the compost toilet was clean and very easy to use. Great place to stay while enjoying the spectacular coastline a few miles away!

Our stay at Windy Hollow Yellow Camping Cabin was really great! We felt like we had all amenities and privacy we could ask for. The shower and outhouse were comfortable and clean and easy to access. The kitchen had everything we needed. Location was great—close to the core of Point Arena and to the lighthouse and easy driving distance to a lot of other coastal towns that were worth visiting over our four day stay. We definitely discussed making it a spot to visit yearly or more as a way to escape the city.

OMG!!! Just as beautiful as described!
We had a blast and really did not want to leave!

We rented both the yellow and red cabins and our boys LOVED having their own space. Everything was clean, in order, and quite comfortable. My little guy said the bed was really comfy and that the loft in the red cabin is the best one.

The trails around the property are all tended and the outhouses don’t stink! Big plus! The kitchen cabin is well-stocked and easy to use., also.

We are very grateful for the host’s hospitality, especially the extra firewood for the fire pit. We had fun climbing the tree with the platforms on it and even had a zebra sighting on the nearby preserve.

My family really needed a getaway and we were able to unplug and just enjoy nature here. Big thanks again to Bryce, Jennifer, and their family for their great accommodations and hospitality! It was a real gift to stay on their precious land for a short retreat.

It was good! Beautiful spot in a nice, secluded area. Felt very private while I was there. Only saw the host once when she came dow ln to give use some extra wood for the hearth that’s in the cabin.

Very peaceful, comfortable, and affordable.

Our stay at Windy Hollow was everything we hoped for and more! The cabin is just like the photos—very charming and thoughtful. We loved the big bay windows to admire the trees and wildlife. There was a very clean outhouse and the cutest kitchen with all the necessary supplies. There are also walking trails around the cabin, and a shower if needed. We enjoyed the town and surrounding area as well. We recommend the B. Bryan Preserve, The Chowder House for lunch/dinner, and the Point Arena lighthouse and Stornetta Public Lands. We will definitely be returning!

This is a very peaceful place to camp, and everything you might need is provided. We enjoyed how quiet it was at night and how many different birds we could hear singing during the day. The instructions for everything were provided on typed, framed documents hanging on the walls. If you read those carefully you should be all set. There is electricity in the yellow cabin, as well as in the kitchen.
