In a small clearing with tall Pines all around you may hear their song in the evening breeze, trees and hills mute other sounds in this isolated camp site. In addition to the Pines there are many other tree and plant species to enjoy. You're located in between the Yuba River and the New Bullards Bar Reservoir, so plenty of great access to water. In addition to the Pines there are many other tree and plant species to enjoy. You're located in between the Yuba River and the New Bullards Bar Reservoir, so plenty of great access to water. The Ranch house where I live is a quarter of a mile away over a ridge or two and unseen in this quiet place. Deer and an occasional Bear may come by to see what you are doing in their forest. Back roads invite easy hiking while deep woods call the more adventurous. Please do not arrive after 8:00 pm unless you have coordinated a time with me prior to arrival. The sites are intended for tent camping so there is no access for camper vans except for very small ones.

Not van accessible
We pulled up with our Sprinter van for a two night stay and Robert came out shaking his head and told us we could not get to the camping area with our vans. We wish that was more obvious when we booked. Nonetheless we had to reverse out of his property on a dirt road and try to find somewhere else to stay at 8 pm. It made for quite the adventure!
Peace, serenity and nature.
This campsite is not just gorgeous but peaceful and secluded. Far away from other campers and life as we know day to day. Robert is an amazing host who provides an educational experience and is warm and friendly. He always treats us like family. The property is natural, private and very comfortable. We love and try to come a few times a year.
Robert's knowledge of the land he has spent most of his life on was inspiring. He introduced us to each of the trees, gave us fruity leaves to smell, and made us feel very welcome.
Definitely recommend a visit to Robert's forest - do bring layers for bugs, watch out for poison oak, and arrive with enough sunlight to get the grand tour!
Loved Roberts camp site! We were a little late getting to the reservation but Robert was still extremely gracious, and gave us a wonderful tour of the trees and plants on his property. I particularly loved the enormous redwood tree he planted many years ago.
The road is a little rough but doable in a sturdy sedan. There are a LOT of mosquitos by the entrance road where Robert met us but once we drove down to the campsite, they were minimal. Lots of blackberries on the property that are free to pick, and Robert has marked a lovely loop hiking trail on his property.
It is a fairly remote, deep woods location so if you’re looking for secluded, this is it. It is a bare bones spot, although the bathroom was pretty well maintained, so a great spot if you’re looking to immerse yourself in nature.
The campsite was lovely - beautiful, spacious, private, and with a clean bathroom just feet away. Robert was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I highly recommend camping here, especially if you’re looking for a spot that feels isolated but is still close to some great hikes and swimming holes. Per Robert’s suggestion I went to Oregon Creek which was amazing! If you scramble along the rocks a bit passed the crowd you might find your own private swimming hole!
