Update: The seasonal creek is flowing!  During the winter months, we do not allow anyone to dive up and park under the tree canopy.  The ground is soft, vehicles leave ugly tracks, and we want the grass to grow in the spring.  Cars/vans can park to the side where there is gravel along the driveway.  You will still have a view of the Buckeye Tree and will still have access to the whole property.

Description:  Come pitch a tent or park your RV/camper van/small trailer on our flat, spacious, 1-acre, front yard under the branches of an expansive beautiful Buckeye Tree and a seasonal creek.  At night the "magical" tree is lit with hanging solar-lit mason jars and you can sit and relax in our Adirondack chairs around our propane campfire.  Will will provide an electric hook-up (via an extension cord), water (via a garden hose), and a picnic table.  If you are not in a self-contained van, we can provide a portable camping toilet with a privacy tent.

This property is a shared space; we are a family of four with a friendly golden retriever, and we live on-site in a house, about 80ft from the campsite.  We love hosting people on our beautiful land and we find joy in people enjoying their stay.

Guests can enjoy lawn games such as boccie ball or corn hole as well as a full-size trampoline.

We are three miles from Samuel P. Taylor State Park, natural pools at the Inkwells, and miles of hiking.  Our property is about 45 minutes from Marin County beaches (Stinson, Bolinas, Limantour), Tomales Bay, Hog Island Oysters, and Pt. Reyes National Seashore.   In the opposite direction, we are three miles from Roy's Redwoods and seven miles from Nicasio Valley Cheese Company (plus a seasonal pumpkin patch).

This is an awesome location for relaxing on-site or for being a hub for various day trips in West Marin.  Other local amenities include a coffee shop (with a nice bathroom, 1-mile down the road), a market/deli/burrito shop, a farm stand with local produce and an amazing Indian restaurant all within 2-miles from the site.

A well-behaved dog can stay as well but can not be left unattended.  Please note that while West Marin is mostly rural where many homes sit on large acres of land, we are still in a quiet neighborhood setting.  No loud parties, no smoking, and no loud voices after 9:00 PM.

We had a wonderful and peaceful time camping in this magical space. The hosts, Amy and Janelle were communicative and helpful leading up to and during our stay. We loved playing with their dog and admiring the land!

Stay was awesome! So peaceful at night with the lit trees and the fire pit! Host were great! We showed up a little late in the evening but Amy came right out to help us! Of course Orvis is a great pup!

Lovely place - Janelle and her family were more than welcoming! The lighted tree at night is a highlight, makes for an incredible backdrop to photos. We even got to pick apples from their apple tree!

Aaah … the buckeye tree …..
Everything was great: the site, the amenities and the hosts.
I’ll definitely be back and will try to spend more than one night.

What a beautiful space - I was extremely inspired and my son and I had a special encounter with nature there. Deer, owls, coyotes, birds, the tree, the smells! Thank you!

Amy and Janelle are awesome hosts and even had a welcome kit with s’mores and maps of all the nice hikes in the area! We loved the beautiful tree and Orvis the dog was a highlight, be prepared to pet him all evening. I’d come back again 100% and would highly recommend the listing.

Great location, close to Fairfax but worlds away. Lit trees at night were the highlight and sky full of stars. Great communication with listers!

I loved it here so much. A lovely space with very kind hosts who provided wonderful amenities that we were expecting. Very close to a state park and recreation areas for hiking and lovely cute towns for shopping and eating. Will be back again...and I have already recommended to friends
