Leave your tent behind and keep warm and dry during the fall/winter nights in our cozy, 2-person, studio shed. All you need to bring is your own bedding and pillows.

Our 6' x 10' shed has floor-to-ceiling windows, tons of natural light, white linen curtains, adjustable screened windows for ventilation, multiple electric outlets, track lighting, high-speed internet/wifi, and a sleeper sofa with a chaise.  The outside area includes a picnic table and two Adirondack chairs.

Please note -- this shed does not have plumbing; guests will use a portable (non-flushing) camping toilet, in a privacy tent, outside.  Look up "Go-Toilet" from REI.

Potable water is available via a garden hose, a spigot attached to our home, and a pitcher with filtered water in the shed.  We also include complimentary tea or cocoa packets and a hot water kettle during your stay.  Guests can enjoy lawn games such as boccie ball or corn-hole as well as a full-size trampoline.

The highlight of our property includes the gathering area under the fabled ancient Buckeye Tree.  There you will find a propane fire pit, another picnic table, and more Adirondack chairs.  Listen to the gentle flowing seasonal creek and the rustling of wildlife.  At night the "magical" tree is lit with hanging mason jars and solar-powered spotlights.

Should you have a larger group, we can offer this buckeye tree site for tent campers, a small RV, or a van, for an additional $15 per person fee (for a maximum of four additional guests). We can allow pets on that part of the site, but not in the studio shed.

We are a family of four, plus a friendly small golden retriever, who live in a small house on the property.  We are happy to share our front yard, outdoor space, with you as our guest.  We are happy to orient you and help you get settled.

We are three miles from Samuel P. Taylor State Park, natural pools at the Inkwells, and miles of hiking.  Our property is about 45 minutes from Marin County beaches (Stinson, Bolinas, Limantour), Tomales Bay, Hog Island Oysters, and Pt. Reyes National Seashore.   In the opposite direction, we are three miles from Roy's Redwoods and seven miles from Nicasio Valley Cheese Company (plus a seasonal pumpkin patch).

This is an awesome location for relaxing on-site or for being a hub for various day trips in West Marin.  Other local amenities include a coffee shop, with a flushing toilet, a 1-mile down the road, a market/deli/burrito shop, a farm stand with local produce, and an amazing Indian restaurant all within 2-miles from the site.

Please note that while West Marin is mostly rural where many homes sit on large acres of land, we are still in a quiet neighborhood setting.  No loud parties, no smoking, no loud voices after 9:00 PM.

Awesome studio, wonderful hosts. Exactly as described -- small, but super clean, nicely decorated, and hosts thoughtfully provide tea pot, pitcher of filtered water, and selection of teas. The sleeper sofa is very comfortable. They also have a guidebook to local food and nature sights. Hosts respond quickly to messages, make you feel at home on arrival.

The giant tree looks fantastic lit up at night, and in Fall everything's green and the stream is flowing. A nice surprise is how quiet the neighborhood is -- only a few cars, and no roosters nearby going off pre-dawn. A minor drawback is not having a 'real' bathroom, but it's easy to find restrooms at nearby businesses, and their porta-potty works fine.

They offer a tent site by the big tree during summer, which was also a great visit. Overall a beautiful, relaxing place to stay, highly recommend.
