The Grove (5 total) campsites are located near the historic Narrow Gauge Railroad bed on a family owned working ranch in coastal Northern California. The camp sites are nestled in a pasture and grove of mixed Eucalyptus, willow and cypress trees. The sites are perfect for tents or camper vans, there are no hook-ups for RVs (the access to the camp sites also prohibits long vehicles). There is access to a composting camp toilet. The ranch itself is 300 acres of rolling hills pasture, with hilltop views of the Estero Americano valley. The Grove is home to many varieties of raptors and other birds-providing excellent bird watching. Seasonally there are blackberries to fill your containers, and some hiking. The sites are subject to some road noise, as we are right on Hwy 1. We are mere minutes from the quaint towns of Valley Ford, Tomales, and Dillon Beach, and a short drive from Bodega, Bodega Bay or Marshall, Pt. Reyes Station and Inverness. Nearby attractions include: Sonoma Coast beaches, Pt. Reyes National Seashore, coastal hiking trails, local farm-to-table eateries. Inland attractions include: redwoods, wine tasting, Russian River activities and so much more. Specifics about these campsites are: They each come with a picnic table (#1,#2, has a checkerboard painted on it-bring checkers or chess!)The grounds are a working ranch, so there is variations of the soil- some lumps and bumps and general natural state of a pasture v. a groomed lawn. There are certainly level places for tents and camper vans. The ranch borders Hwy 1, so there is some degree of road noise. Traffic usually dies down mid afternoon, and isn't too much of a disturbance. There can be however, some heavy weekend traffic during the day with car clubs and motorcycle riders enjoying the coastal highway.
The Grove Sites #1- #3 are on this listing site#4 and site#5 are their own listing.

If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Distance of camp sites is good not too close, has portable toilet but no water, you have to bring your own, ok for overnight especially for van life, no trailers allowed I think. google is having a hard time finding the address if you put it manually on your gps. Its better to tap the link on your confirmation, I arrived night time so it was an additional challenge. It would be better it there is a big sign of “Grove” at the gate
It was a great camping trip!
It was wonderful sleeping in a cow pasture under the stars, it was very quiet and serene!?Anna is a 6th generation farm owner and a great host!
Thanks for sharing your land with us, we had a great experience there!
The Grove is a lovely campsite! The campsites and the outhouse were all super clean. The surrounding cows and animals were nice to fall asleep to. We really enjoyed the night we spent here.
We took our dog with us. She is a nervous dog with some stranger danger so I'll share the information that I was looking for before coming. The site is almost completely fenced in! Campsite 4 (a different listing) is the only one that has a complete visual barrier from the other campsites. It is up a hill behind the outhouse and behind lots of trees and bushes. Campsites 1-3 (this listing) and 5 (another listing) are in a field below campsite 4. All of them can see each other, and you can see the road from all of them. There is some opaque fencing to block out some of the road in places. Bikers, motorcycles, and cars went by the site but on the Friday night we stayed there wasn't a ton of traffic. We stayed at campsite #1, which has a big tree to block the view to some of the campsites and is farthest away from the outhouse, but closest to the road. The sites were far enough away that they felt pretty separate. There were lots of animal noises in the distance, but very few other noises. Site 4 shares a wire fence with another cow pasture but the cows were only there for part of the time we were. The campsite is completely closed in from the in-use pastures with gates, so cows can't come in unless the gates are open.
We will definitely be returning to The Grove! Thank you Anna for providing such a lovely dog friendly campsite.
