Welcome to the latest addition to our retreat center, the Glamping Tents!

Each glamping tent allows max 4 person, with a queen bed, a twin bed and a sofa (just a sofa not a sofa bed). Beddings and towels are provided. There is a private propane BBQ grill and picnic table. No electricity in the tent, the bathroom has electrical outlets.

Tent #1 and #2 are in the prime location of the campground, very close to the bathroom, kitchen (staff only) area, and outdoor amphitheater,  with great views of the forest.

Tent #1: Drive past the bathroom on the paved road and the tent is on the left side on a flat area.

Tent #2: Drive down on the paved road and the tent is before the bathroom on a flat area.

Only cats allowed, dogs not allowed.

The glamping tent allows only one vehicle. The vehicle traffic damages the road and it is very expensive to do road works. Also increased traffic causes disturbances to the residents and neighborhood so we have to strictly limit the number of vehicles. In case you need one more car contact host for approval with extra charge. No loud music allowed any time. Quiet time 9p - 9a. Our onsite staff will go around and enforce the rules.

We paved most of the road going down to the campground, up to campsite 1, 2 and 7, but from there to the other sites still dirt road and bumpy in some areas.

Due to the current COVID situation, we will not provide linens for the bed, please bring your own sheets, blankets and pillows.

Guests use shared bathroom in the campground. There is sink with hot water in the utility shed.

1) ONE HOUSEHOLD ONLY PLEASE - Due to the current covid restrictions, it's been necessary to restrict use further to maintain compliance and safety to stay open. Please only stay in our hut with members of your existing household "bubble".

2) NO OPEN FIRES - The nearby recent fires have left everyone very sensitive to fire risk so no, we're sorry but fires will still not be allowed under any conditions.  Your propane or coleman style camp stoves are ok for cooking.  Please bring nothing that requires coals/wood, etc.

3) TICK SEASON WARNING: The Santa Cruz mountains are tick territory and depending on the time of year ticks are easy to pick up so doing a tick check at the end of the day is highly recommended.  If this is a concern, please use tick repellent and look to the county HSA for more information.

Welcome to the Enchanted Forest Retreat!

We are a meditation retreat center with 45 acres of some of the most gorgeous redwoods in the Santa Cruz mountains to enjoy hiking, creeks and small water fall exploration, mountain biking, wildlife viewing, star gazing, relaxation, meditation and more.

Our campground has running water from a natural spring, Men and Women's Restrooms each with 2 toilets and 1 hot water shower and plugs for charging phones, laundry shed with sink and hot water, one BBQ grill by the fence up above the creek, and an outdoor amphitheater. We have meditation teaching at the amphitheater and campers are welcomed to attend for free.

25 minutes to Silicon Valley - 25 minutes to Santa Cruz Boardwalk we're centrally located in the south bay. Dogs and kids are welcome - dogs must be picked up after and kept on a leash if other campers are present.

Please note: This is camping - there may be bugs, critters, dirt, unpredictable weather (pack for the cold, just in case - we get surprise fog often!), early sunrise, no cell data, etc etc. It's not the Hilton - but it is gorgeous. ;)

Shopping such as Safeway, Costco and the big box stores are 20 minutes away in Soquel; however, we have a charming little market (Summit Center) 3.5 miles away that has a great selection of groceries, drinks and hot foods, etc.

Please feel free to reach out with any questions and we'll help however we can!

NOTICE REGARDING RVs and TRAILERS: While we can not offer hookups, theoretically we have no problem with RVs - the reason we state we don't allow them is that the road is dirt and steep in a couple of places getting down to the campground and VERY narrow in one spot (10ft). Our concern is that your RV and/or trailer will not make it down without damage and/or not make it back up at all! If you feel you're willing to take this risk (we won't be held liable), you're welcome to reach out to us and we can see what is possible.

Beautiful location, but...

TLDR: Beautiful location, amazing on-site staff, great facilities, avoid tent site #1.

The great:
The on-site staff is phenominal. Really kind people who worked really hard to make sure we felt welcome. They were so sweet to our daughter and made our stay infinitely better. If we choose to come back it will be because of the staff.

Really good facilities. The staff kept everything clean and well-stocked. Hot running water, a full shower, a sink to wash dishes, and a coin-operated washer/dryer that guests can use in the morning and evening.

Beautiful location among the trees. They have a mix of camp sites, tent (yurt) sites, and tiny cabins. It looked like all sites had a picnic table, and many sites had a propane barbeque with a side burner. We didn't need to use our camp stove, but we did need matches because the auto-light function worked on the bbq but not the side burner.

The yurt (tent) was phenomenal. Obviously very good quality tent and it was huge inside. There was a queen bed, a twin bed, full sized sofa, coffee table, small cabinet with extra linens, and carpets on the floors. You could stand up inside and it was a very comfortable place to stay.

The not-so-great: we were in tent site 1 and the website did not adequately describe the tent sites. Site 1 is a very sunny site. There are a few trees to the side and the table and bbq are in shade the full day. But by 9:30 am the site is in full sun and remains that way until the afternoon when the sun dips below the tree line. The tent was in full sun, and it was way too hot to stay inside the tent during the day. We had a toddler with us and she wasn't able to nap until a couple hours past her usual time. The website describes the site as having shade, but less than 10% of the site is shaded for a big portion of the day.

The website describes tent site 1 as being the closest to the bathrooms. This desription does not do justice to how close the site is to the bathroom. The bathroom is practically on your site. The wall of the bathroom butts up against your site, and people use site #1 to park when they come to the bathroom. The site was approximately the same size as other sites, but with 3 or 4 cars parked for a good part of the day the area we had to use was much much smaller than other sites.

There are security lights on the back side of the bathroom that shine on the tent site. It was nice to have the extra light in the evening, but it was very difficult to sleep with so much light in the tent. We didn't need a flashlight inside our tent at night. Jessica said we could turn those lights away from our tent but someone turned them back in the middle of the night and we had to turn them again at 3 am.

SIte #3 was the best of the tent sites. It is the farthest from the bathrooms, but it is a normal distance and about how far I expect to walk to the bathroom in a campground. It is tucked away in a beautiful grove of trees. The site is shaded all day. The tent is far off the road and has a lot of privacy. There are 2 picnic tables. The only downside to Tent site 3 is it is right on a cliff. There are barriers but we worried about our toddler falling so we decided to tolerate the issues with site #1.

We arrived at night and there are absolutely no milemarkers or wayfinders that are visible at night. Our site is a 5 min drive from the entrance and it took us 45 minutes to locate in the dark. The site #s are not visible from the road, they are 20-50 feet insite the site, right next to the tent. So in order to see them you have to leave your car and walk on someone's camp site with your flashlight and shine your light in their tent. Bizarre. You are supposed to make a right turn that isn't in the written directions and there are no signs guiding you to turn right. If you don't turn right you will enter the loop in the wrong direction and none of written directions will be correct. There was supposed to be a map in the bathroom and there wasn't. They need better signage, and they need to make sure it is visible at night. It is a very easy fix and instead of acknowledging that it is difficult to find your way at night, Jessica blamed us for arriving after dark and said there is plenty of signage, and we'll be able to see it during the day.

We stayed at Glamp Tent (Site 2) at first it was hard to find since the sign had fallen to the ground, but the picture was similar to online. The campsite is nice, relaxing, and sites are spread out. The restrooms were clean and shower was a nice touch. We had access to a propane bbq and they provide propane which was awesome. I'd prefer the tent to ba little cleaner but for being outdoors it is expected for there to be dust and dead bugs. Overall, I enjoyed and will be back to check out their tiny house.

Beautiful location, however, on-site staff were arguing/screaming to the point of feeling unsafe and uncomfortable staying there. Was definitely not a restful/peaceful experience because of this and we considered leaving because we felt so uncomfortable.

I have never camped in such luxury! The tent and everything in it was clean, comfortable and very enjoyable. It does get hot during the day but is cool after about 6:00pm and before 11am. So this time of year plan to be out doing other things during the day. The bathrooms are clean and nothing is crowded or loud. We had a great relaxing time!

We were thrilled with the Yurt. Had 2 comfy beds and a cozy sofa. All carpeted with a little dresser and towels provided for showering. We had access to a propane BBQ, a picnic bench and were close to the bathrooms. We had a really nice walk around the grounds and were surrounded by redwoods, it was extremely relaxing. Nice place to disconnect from the outside world!

Nicely separated sites with a few non-pack in tent camping. We decided to go with one of the tents that is pre-done (aka glamping) since it was a last minute trip and we needed to find a place stat! The tent was set up nice but we got there late and had a little trouble finding the place. All worked out. There are bathrooms, shower, and laundry. Good setup and the beds were nice to have as it was pretty cold!

We thoroughly enjoyed staying here. I wanted a night in the outdoors, but had no camping equipment. This was a perfect solution. Very clean, real bed, real bathrooms just steps away, hot showers, in the middle of the redwoods.
