Stemple Creek Ranch is a family owned and operated organic cattle ranch in Tomales, CA, just a few miles from the Pacific Ocean. We raise grass-fed and grass-finished beef and lamb and pastured pork. The ranch is just a few miles away from the towns of Tomales and Dillon Beach, less than a mile away from Highway 1 (Shoreline Highway), and a great home base for exploring Marin or Sonoma Counties.

Please note: no pets, no smoking, no open flames.

We have some onsite cabins that we rent out and an on site manager - they are in the same general vicinity as the camping spots. While it is possible to come to the ranch and not see another person, we can't promise that.

It will be hard to find your campsite in the dark, so please arrive during daylight hours.

We have several different campsites available, some will be better suited to larger vehicles, so please let me know what you have when you submit your request.  We sometime move our campsites around depending on weather, rain, and where our cattle are.

This is a great spot for families. Lots of room to run around and plenty of trees to climb. We loved it here.

the land is beautiful, but I was given a space next to a pile of wood chips. From the communication before it felt I was not expected to be welcomed or find any help so I felt hesitant reaching out to the farm manager. She seemed overwhelemed by having to find another spot for me. Eventually we managed to find a spot that worked out nice. It just didnt feel very welcoming and I feel that $100 is quite expensive.

Response from Lisa, the Host, on March 16th, 2021

Sieteke I am sorry you didn't enjoy your stay. I offered to allow you to cancel or reschedule given the weather and our wet pastures and you declined. We tried to accommodate your many, many requests, including for things that are clearly not provided on our profile. My patient manager went above the call of duty to accommodate you and it appears that even though we tried our best you were not happy. This was not a match that was meant to be. We wish you the best of luck on your next Hipcamp adventure.

This place is absolutely spectacular. 360-degree views of some of the most gorgeous land we've ever laid eyes on. The hosts are incredibly friendly (and so are the cows!) We spent two nights here and wish we'd booked many more. There is a large, clean, and well-stocked port-a-potty along with a picnic table and we found flat ground to pitch a tent easily. We were allowed to roam the property (as long as the electric fencing was secured) and there are some lovely hills to stroll. There is WiFi by the barn, and even some swings to embrace your inner child on. Highly recommend! A+++

The beautiful field + cows in the background.A view from our tent (perfect!)

We stayed on a meadow area adjacent to a eucalyptus grove. Oriented north/south we had beautiful views on both sides. You’re surrounded by lush rolling green hills. It’s very private and peaceful. Also good sun exposure if you’re using solar. If you’re looking for some privacy and a sense of nature, it’s a great spot. Only about 20 minutes or so from the 101 and a few minutes from the 1. Lisa and the farm manager Katie were very attentive.
