Nourish yourself in nature in this luxury tent on a piece of property situated near the Los Padres Forest.  You can't help but completely relax with the vibe that envelops you as you step foot on the ground, and  takes you back to a slice of days gone by.   The main house is about 300 feet away from the tent, and you have a beautiful private bathroom close to the tent with an indoor toilet and shower.  To one side of the tent is a large picnic table for only you.  There is a gas BBQ grill, and an outdoor sink.  You'll need to bring your own food supplies, water, and sleeping bags, bedding/linens.

The property is completely fenced in, and just a 5 minute walk to the Carmel River, and a 1/4 mile hike to Los Padres Dam.  We are 25 minutes from the Carmel Valley Village.

There are two other rentals on the property, but each has it's own privacy the way they are situated.

There are chickens, and yes, a rooster that make up part of the eclectic farm.  We also have one very friendly dog, Ruby, and one cat, Cleo.

The property has charm and there was a scenic, mountainous drive to get there. The owner was friendly and greeted me upon arrival, and took care to make it a good experience. There was a nice dog and chickens, and I woke up to a rooster crowing. The outpost with shower was nice.

My feedback is that there could be more information on this site on what to expect, so I hope by sharing here others will go more prepared than I did. 1.) With the more remote location, bring all food supplies with you… you may not want to drive back out. There is a grill and a refrigerator. 2.) BRING BEDDING! I received a text when I was already on my way that I needed to bring my own or a sleeping bag. The tent has a Queen AIR MATTRESS with no sheets or blankets. I have stayed in a Hipcamp for a similar rate that had a more furnishing. 3.) There’s a gas-powered heater for the tent, which I did not use (mix of concern and user error)… so without that and no bedding it does get cold at night.

Very cool space, thanks for the great hospitality. Nice balance of camping with amenities, really appreciated the hot shower and option for lights and heat. Can't wait to visit longer in the future.

We loved our stay at Quail Nest! First time hipcamper here, so I wasn't expecting much but I'd say it's a true definition of glamping. Outhouse bathroom and shower was perfect, the tent was cool and had a heater we used for a bit before bed. We were delayed on arrival but Jeff's directions were super helpful and clear. It was such a charming spot, great vibes. Rustic with interesting decor. Unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to say hi to Jeff but we met a nice, welcoming neighbor. Loved the sounds of the animals in the morning and we were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of Ruby 🐕. I did take a picture of the printout on basic rules/info about the area as it had facts about the tribe that id like to learn more about. Great star gazing spot. Would love to book again if I'm ever in the area and have more time to explore the grounds. Thank you again, Jeff!

i stayed here 5 nights and absolutely loved my stay. Jeff was a great host and the property is so beautiful and peaceful and makes such a great little retreat away. I worked remotely during my stay and the wifi worked super well to attend zoom calls. there were lots of different places to sit and relax. the bathroom was shared with one other person staying on the property. there is a separate grill and picnic table by the tent

The location is beautiful and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was also clean and nice. The only downside was the occasional, late night noise from the neighbors' dogs and trucks. Nonetheless, we enjoyed our stay and are glad we explored the area.

Quail Nest was even better than we imagined! We came super late and Jeff's super clear directions helped get us there smoothly and safely even in the dark with no service!
Everything was super clean and laid out beautifully. When we woke up we were on a magical property filled with charm. Jeff and his wife Rose were so kind and welcoming.
It's absolutely wonderful and having welcoming hosts makes it that much more comfortable!
Would have loved to stay longer... next time!
