Beautiful grounds need attention.
Beautiful grounds that really need some love and attention. This place has a great setup and so much potential. It's unfortunate that it seems to be neglected. The same goes for the animals on the grounds from what i can tell. The chickens and duck were left with a nearly empty pond with only an inch or two of sludge, the cat lived in one of the dwellings that was sprayed with a strong pesticide while we visited to get rid of wasps and everything needed a good wipe down. The community style kitchen is a great idea and we met some fun interesting people.
Was here for my birthdays weekend. What can I say, it was perfect! The beds we’re very comfortable, the place, beautiful, the amenities spectacular. Overall amazing as to be expected. Deja is so thoughtful and you can see that both when meeting her and in every space on the farm. Highly recommend!
Even better than the pictures
This was such a great escape from the city during COVID shelter in place. Even though smoke is covering California from multiple fires, we were ok spending time outside at the Solis Family Farm. The surrounding trees help a lot. The bed in the Rise and Shine tent was leaning a bit, but I bet Deja fixes that soon. We stuffed a couple extra pillows under one side of the mattress and it evened out great. The chickens and ducks loved being fed our compost scraps. Deja had left us some fresh eggs which were very yum. There are a bunch of dogs on the farm who took some time warming up to our dog, but they were all friends by the second day. :) Deja was a great host. Her friends would swing by and were so generous. Deja recommended a nearby swimming hole and it was awesome. I didn't realize the outdoor kitchen would be so great and have so much helpful stuff including pots, pans, bowls, plates, silverware, cups, sink, sponges, soap, salt, pepper and other spices, etc. We shared the ice machine, refrigerator, stove and oven with the other guests, rotating who would be in the kitchen cooking at a single time, and wiping everything down between uses. There are many tables spread out to allow for safe social distancing while you hang out or eat. There was a kettle for boiling hot water for coffee/tea and a french press. We brought a medium cooler for extra groceries/drinks, because we had a longer trip planned afterward. The outdoor shower is private, beautiful, and includes fluffy towels. When I go back, I will probably stay in their Yurt next time because it looked extra luxurious. Thank you for having us Deja!
We had such an amazing time at the Solis Family Farm! Deja is a very welcoming host and we are definitely going to stay there again! We especially enjoyed the outdoor kitchen with the pizza oven, the outdoor shower, the music playing in the evening and LOVED our day trip to the beach on the pontoon boat! Would most definitely recommend this place for a relaxing and fun weekend away from the Bay Area!
Deja and her family were extremely warm and welcoming. Our stay at the Solis farm was a wonderful experience for our whole family. We highly recommend Solis Family Farm for your next getaway
Worth the drive, go there to escape
My personal experience was a wreck, my camping partner cancelled, and to no fault of anyone's, kids were there that were deathly afraid of dogs. So unfortunately there was no social aspect for me, and I decided to leave early.
That said, the place is pretty amazing, the guests and hosts were all good people, the difference accomodations were much more than expected. There's a lot going on, but doesn't have a clutter feel.
Definitely better than any camp sites, I would go back for sure, just hard to write a real review without being able to experience a lot personally. All I can say is it's all you expect and a lot more.
A restorative and relaxing stay
We had an amazing time staying in this site, and it definitely exceeded our expectations. Deja has created an incredible environment for guests. We had privacy at our campsite, but could easily opt to spend time in the common area in and around the outdoor kitchen with other campers (at a safe distance). The farm is beautiful. The outdoor kitchen is extremely well equipped and includes a refrigerator, oven, grill, and large sink. All you need to bring is your food. And the campsite itself was spotless, clean, and beautiful. We will definitely come back, and next time we are bringing ingredients to make pizza in the outdoor oven. We would highly recommend this hipcamp site to anyone.
Glamping at its finest. I can’t wait to return. Gorgeous property, full kitchen, open air tub and shower, comfy tents with actual mattresses and one compostable toilet.
Shared kitchen/common area/dining space is beautiful and had everything we needed to make a meal. In non-pandemic times this is our jam, but because of covid it is a consideration to share space like this with strangers. It worked out ok, we tried our best to take turns and keep distant.
Deja, the host, was friendly and laid back.
