Cozy little bitty salvage redwood cabin looking out on giant redwoods at our sweet old homestead. Queen sized memory foam bed with cozy cotton flannel sheets, down comforter, and fluffy pillows, with extra wool blanket on hand. Electric kettle, little pour-over coffee set-up for the morning, lots of great old books to dig into. Outdoor shower with on-demand hot water, outdoor sink and dining area where you're welcome to set up your own cook stove. Composting toilet bathroom with sink about 10 steps from the cabin. All water is potable.
The Love Shack opens out onto a redwood meadow that is communal space and you're welcome to wander and check out the giant redwood stumps, ferns, and banana slugs or make a warming fire in the fire pit dedicated to your space.
Our home and our other Hipcamp space, a vintage trailer called "Many Moons" are also on the 1.5 acre homestead. All are decently private from each other, but you may see us out and about on the land, working and playing with our 3 year old. If you have more than 2 people in your group, we'd recommend booking the Many Moons trailer, which can house another 2 friends.
2 miles from the ocean and all kinds of activities + a great little general store with just about everything you might need.

This was a wonderful cabin, so cozy and sweet for a weekend getaway! Madeline’s family and home were comfortable and kind, as they gave me a tour and made sure I had all that I needed. Can’t recommend this place enough!
Beautiful and neat experience!
Beautiful stay ! Such an amazing piece of land. Trevor and Madeline really know how to turn simple into stylish . Would go back 100% thank you for the hospitality!
A beautiful experience
An absolutely beautiful space, the loveshack was so cozy and thoughtfully decorated. The little cottage has such wonderful energy. The family was so sweet and we also had the pleasure of their cat visiting us quite frequently. We will be back!🤎🌲🌕
Warm, cozy, fun.
This was such a cute love shack. We had a great time. Dont worry about it being cold if the weather is chilly, the little fireplace keeps it nice and toasty with hot water for any warm beverages needs. The shower is even hot! The hosts we warm and friendly and the land is so cute! Close to Mendocino and all the fun the coastal cliff beaches have to offer! We would love to come back!
We stayed for two nights and it was absolutely wonderful! Cozy cabin, beautiful grounds, and lots of space to hang out. Close enough to Mendocino and Fort Bragg, but also removed enough to feel like you’re away from it all. 10/10 would recommend!
Wow! Madeline and Trevors Coastal Redwoods hipcamp property was an absolute GEM! Majestic, serene, and the most relaxing experience we could have asked for for our 3 night stay in Mendocino.
We had the option of choosing between their cute and cozy “Love Shack” and their truly unique “Many Moons” renovated 1954 Spartan Imperial Mansion trailer. Last minute, we decided to go with the latter, and it did not disappoint. We immediately fell in love with the tiny home feel of the Many Moons site! The wood fireplace, the kitchen, the cozy nook looking out to their garden, the deck, and best of all, the outdoor shower that runs hot only—everything was truly a dream! We loved it so much that we literally did not leave to go anywhere else for the first two days!
Their spot is located a short drive off from the main highway which made access super easy. We were about a 10 minutes drive from the town of Mendocino and a couple minutes away from a local market. When you pull into their designated Hipcamp area you feel like you are nestled deep into a magical forest. Their backyard is set up with so many different spaces where you can chill. A fire pit is available. They have a chicken coup you can visit to observe the chickens as well which is pretty cool!
Travis and Madeline were fantastic hosts! They checked in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. Had plenty of wood ready for us to use upon arrival, and we even got to spend a little time getting to know their story and how this beautiful property came about.
We absolutely loved this place and are already thinking about when to come back! Thanks so much Madeline and Trevor!
Wow, we are so happy with everything about our stay! We only could stay one night this time but will definitely be back again. Maddie, Trevor and Noble came and checked in with us and gave us all the information we needed as well as showed us around their beautiful property. It was a cozy quiet place, exactly what we were hoping for. Thank you!!!
The Love Shack is such a sweet sweet haven in the coastal town of Albion. Life moves slower out here and this is a lovely place to experience it. Madeline and Trevor, the hosts, have created a peaceful sanctuary to rest your bones.
The Love Shack is a beautiful, thoughtfully curated space with all the necessities of home. It comes with power, a super cozy bed, a water jug + an electric kettle, and plenty of books to teach you about foraging and edible landscapes. There are so many sweet touches that make it feel like a home away from home. I personally loved the beautiful collection of handmade ceramics set out for you to use. They also shared some fresh eggs from their chickens for our breakfast the next morning.
If you stay on a Friday night, you may get the option to join yoga led by Madeline on Saturday morning. We had a rejuvenating class under the redwoods that sunny morning.
I highly recommend this spot and can’t wait till I can make the trip up there again. It’s so close to the coastal towns of Mendocino and Fort Bragg, so there’s plenty to experience nearby as well.
