As said previously, the photos do not reflect the campsite rather the end of the North Fork Trail that begins at the campground. Nonetheless, the campsite was beautiful and extremely peaceful. The stars at night were amazing as well! Definitely worth taking the 9 mile round trip hike for the view of the first lake as well. One of my favorite campgrounds ever.

I absolutely love this campground, but these pictures are not representative of it. They are taken at the alpine lakes that are a 9 mile hike from the campground. It's a gorgeous hike and well worth the effort, but again, this is not what your campsite will look like. That said, Big Pine campground is lovely - shady and cool, with clean bathrooms and a privately owned general store where you can get coffee and breakfast. The 'creek" is really more like a river, so you an fall asleep to the sound of rushing water, and wake to deer wandering through the sites. It's legit one of my fave campgrounds.
