Just one hour away from the Trail of 100 Hundred Giants, you'll find our little piece of heaven in the remote canyon of the National Sequoia Forest, with the smell of pines and incredible views in all directions.

This is a homestead, we have roosters, guinea fowl and turkeys that go off at different hours of the day, so be aware that you will get a free early morning alarm clock! there are also many other forest birds which is a joy to hear in the morning. We have a dog named Gruffy and he will be tied during your stay so no worries about bringing pets, but he does bark at times as all dogs do :) We grow organic food and practice organic, non-GMO methods. We offer firewood, which is whatever available so it can be oak or pine, you get a bigger bundle than at the store. Please note the way to the farm is a quarter of a mile on a dirt road which is somewhat bumpy and uneven but definitely ok for any sedan, any vehicle that is not a 25+ foot RV can make it here no problem, site #1 is better for bigger vehicles and campers.

From here, you can easily access local hiking trails that lead to historic gold mines and 20 minutes to white water rafting, boating, fishing, wind sailing at the lake and

90 minutes from the Giant Sequoias.

Danny was a great host. Our group of 7 had so much fun and the kids loved the archery. Plenty of shade and very peaceful. The only downside was the toilet situation but the hosts lists everything in the description. We will most definitely be back! Thanks you!

Great little site! Easy to access. Friendly host. Good shade. Cute and curious cats.
Bring earplugs if you're sensitive to the sound of animals (wild and domestic)
Would definitely camp here again.

Nice little spot for a quick getaway from the city. We stayed at the A1 lot, which meant we were up on the hill. So we got to see the sun set behind a tall mountain. Lots of cute cats, super friendly. They sat on us most of our stay.

Great amount of shade from trees. Didn't have to setup the shade or the shade tarp. Trees were enough. And pletny of hammock opportunities.

Very convenient water hose. The fire pit is a little too close to the tree, and surrounding dry brush, but felt safe enough overall.

Danny K was very helpful with getting us extra fire wood and communicating in general. Will be coming back for sure.

The only downside were the neighbooring dogs and roosters. They didn't have much of a schedule in terms of barking or making rooster sounds.

We stayed at campsite #2 (the lower one) and had a great experience. What we liked was:

-Beautiful drive to this remote area (You really feel you’re getting away.)
-The host was thoughtful & accommodating.
-Site #2 is more private.
-There was water at the campsite (the hose was so helpful).
-We could build a fire (You can’t do this in most public parks now due to fire restrictions).
-Our site had lots of trees & shade.
-There were cute kittens on the property.
-It felt safe to be here.

The compost toilet situation was creative, sustainable & simple, making us feel like true hip campers. (Its distance from camp was also great). That said, if you’re a total “glamper” expecting a flush toilet, this is probably not for you.

My tip for driving in is to come in daylight & pay attention once you’re on the dirt road to not miss the turns.

Overall, great for camping with friends on private property.

The lack of servise made it difficult to find. The campsite is in view of a house, the owner's. They left a very bright light on until 10pm. It was more like sleeping outside than camping. I woke up to the sound of a pneumatic torque. The frowing operation was great. I pulled potatoes out of the ground!

Thanks for visiting, glad you liked the potatoes, hope the herbal remedies class and the homesteading class was helpful to you as well as the herbs I gave you, they are powerful!

Danny was super friendly and pretty accommodating during our stay. His kids were very pleasant to meet and very friendly as well. We were big fans of the chickens, roosters, and cats.

Great location, great host

Danny was a great host and has a nice family. We booked both sites but ended up putting our two families together on site 2. There was just enough room for 2 big tents and one medium tent. The two sites are close to each other, but not easy to walk from one to the other because site 1 is up a small hill. We had never used the compostable toilets before; basically it's just a bucket with a bag in it, with a small toilet seat over the top. You go, then put a scoop of compost in to cover it up before the next person goes. It's discarded on the property at the end of the stay. The location of the property is great, about 1.5 hour drive from Trail of the 100 Giants, which was amazing. There's no cell reception at the site with Verizon, but 20 min up the road toward Lake Isabella you get reception again. You can have a camp fire which is nice.

Welcoming, off-the-grid campsite

Danny’s campsite was secluded, off-the-grid, clean, and nestled in the Havilah Pines. We spent 3 nights there, hiking in Sequoia National Forest (1 hr away), jet skiing in Lake Isabella (20 minutes) away, and even venturing all the way to Sequoia National Park (3 hrs!) for a day hike. Danny was very very lovely and welcoming. Even though his house is on the campground, he gave us our space and chatted with us when we passed. The campsite is situated under some trees which was great in providing relief from the hot summer sun! We had space to cook, chill, hang a hammock, and do some yoga. Definitely would stay again!
