Cooperative managers Jim and Dawn host campers who want to enjoy nature, participate in permaculture gardening all while off-setting their travel footprint. It was such a great experience..Jim and Dawn were very accommodating to our Archery group..They went above and beyond and made sure we were comfortable and provided for.
Ecoshire - a great place for groups
Our running group spent a weekend at EcoShire in September 2021, where Jim, Dawn, Alden, Chris & Ben were absolutely amazing and made us feel like part of the family. The kitties, goats and chickens were great too!
From our pre-trip organizing to helping us map out a run through their property and the surrounding area, everyone was super accommodating and helped us plan an amazing weekend.
The meals EcoShire catered for us were tasty and let us spend more time relaxing. The swimming pool, cooling misters and new shaded areas were so comfortable that a few of our campers left their tents in the car and spent the weekend in EcoShire's hammocks.
If you're looking for space to spread out, do some exploring and relax under the stars, where they respect our responsibility to this planet, you won't find better hosts than the crew at EcoShire. See you again soon guys!
Great family memories at ecoshire
Jim and Don were great hosts we were welcomed the moment we arrived, we felt like we knew them before. Jim made a nice cocktail that set the mood. The camp site was big with lots of RV space but no hookups. We really enjoyed our stay at ecoshire. at night the skies were lit with stars . Our family enjoyed time around the fire. everything was available with lots of things to do with the kids. Nearby there is Aqua park and Museum. we hope to be back soon
Inspirational family camping
Our family absolutely loved the EcoShire! We had not been camping for about 4 years and decided to give HipCamp a try. Our group of 13 included adults and children from age 8 to 51. EcoShire was a great spot to chill for a few days and get to know the owner, Jim, and his vision for the site! Although it was 100-degree weather, we hiked, checked out the local area and spent time cooling off in the mini-pool. The kids spent hours feeding the goats, ducks and chickens. And it was a bonus to get treated to some otterpops from the kitchen! Sunday breakfast made by Jim and his crew was delicious. We really enjoyed the crew’s hospitality, the vision for EcoShire and talked about our future trips back before even leaving. Looking forward to returning!
Excellent host, wonderful location
Our church group had 140 young men and 50 adult leaders at the EcoShire camp for three days and two nights. We had a goal of helping the teenage group have an outdoor experience which included activities they don't normally do at home and mix in a service component and allow time for our ecclesiastical leaders to teach 'life class' lessons. Jim helped us set up a safe shooting range, a 100-foot waterslide, and gave us access to his side property for airsoft battles. We also set up a hatchet-throwing station. In an effort to provide opportunities for the youth to serve at the camp, we planted dozens of live-oak trees and a couple of fruit trees. We taught the boys construction skills while we built a shower/toilet structure on the property. We also taught the boys recycling with an assignment to make eco-bricks (2-liter plastic bottles stuffed tight with plastic garbage). Bottom line, if we had an idea, Jim helped us make it happen. He spent countless hours helping to prepare the camp for our large group. We anticipate making this a bi-annual event and look forward to coming back again with even more boys and have even more fun. Thank you Jim and Dawn for an excellent outdoor experience at a wonderful location!
Such an incredible experience!!!
Wow, what can I say, our EcoShire experience my expectations!! Our group had such an incredible time, in large do to the amazing hospitality of Jim and his team. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and enjoy everything the EcoShire had to offer!
We had access to the outdoor kitchen where they also had fresh coffee every morning and if lucky, you may get to try Jim's "Out of this World" French Toast!! We got to hang with the animals, throw axes, archery, lounge in the hammocks.... the full EcoShire experience! At our site, they came by every night to ensure we were good and if we needed assistance with our fire.
Again, so friendly and attentive and the story behind the Ecoshire was very inspirational and we were grateful Jim took the time to share it with us.
Highly recommend and will definitely be going back again!
