The Dome Asylum, hippie homestead, is a geodesic domicile built in 1986. The Dome Asylum is focused on sustainability. Indeed, we see the property as our own little, just-over-an-acre, eco-park. In addition to the aquaponic and keyhole gardens, the Dome Asylum features several cactus gardens, a meditation trail, and a natural pool/tub. The plants and fish in the pool are just one of the many pleasant discoveries you will encounter during your stay.

Pitch your tent along the meditation trail in the Dome Asylum's front cactus garden. Nestled into the corner of the property with it's own well water spigot. A short walk to the shared outdoor bath in the natural poolside patio.

The Dome is about an hour from San Diego beaches and even closer to popular hiking at Mt. Woodson and Potato Chip Rock.

Great stay at the dome asylum! It was perfect place to pitch our tent and have running water to shower in. The place has nice chill vibes. The chickens wake up early so bring some earplugs.

Absolutely loved their space, I can’t imagine a more loving way to share what you enjoy with others than the grounds at Dome Asylum. The host were so welcoming and helpful. We felt like our tent spot was private enough and the working toilet is a huge plus. Don’t even get me started on their live pool, but I’ll let you see that for yourself 🖤

Guest book!Amazing cactus and plants everywhere & fire pits included What a sweet little guard Cactus garden spot is very private

This is a great spot and the listing doesn't even do it justice! The site feels fairly private and the cacti around makes it magical. The property has a lot of inspiring objects and the pool setup is very comfortable. We honestly contemplated spending a day chilling by the pool instead of the day trip we had planned. Swimming with fish on a hot day was really nice. Dawn is a wonderful host who made us feel welcome. I definitely recommend and would stay again.

Great place. We went there for Memorial Day getaway with our puppy. There are many animals around. Dawn was friendly and responsive in communication. She greeted us from the gate and showed us around, we really appreciate it. One thing with camping here is there are many dog barking and howling at night, the rooster crowing around 3am in the morning. Bring some noise cancellation plugs, or get them at the CVS in the town will help.

Dawn was very accommodating. The property is a good spot, I loved their chickens and the pond. So great having easy access to a bathroom which you don’t always get while camping. And they even have a cute area with sofas and shade so you can hang by their pond, with WiFi and an electrical outlet. Only negative thing I have to say is neighborhood dogs barking in the middle of the night, which obviously has nothing to do with the actual site... maybe consider bringing earplugs! We went down to the beaches in Coronado/San Diego during the day, pretty nice drive through the mountains ~45-60 minutes. Would stay here again if I was coming to this area.

I had a great experience staying here! I felt a sense of peace throughout my stay. Wifi works well, the pool is perfect on a hot day, and the bathroom was clean. It met all my needs and more, and I hope to stay again!
