There's no need to pitch camp with our spacious, sun-drenched Yurt! Settle in, and relax on our beautiful 5.5 acre rustic farmstead, nestled in the cozy hills of Aromas, CA! We are just minutes away from Highway 101, but far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside. Our property features sweeping majestic views toward the coast of Monterey and down toward Big Sur. The land features walking trails up toward a beautiful oak grove at the ridge of the property, and down the other side into several acres of wilderness. We are located about 15 minutes from the ocean at Moss Landing, and 30 to 45 minutes away from Monterey, Pacific Grove, Carmel and Santa Cruz.

Our furnished private Yurt features fantastic picturesque views of the hillside and farm, as well as our budding food forest on the uphill side. The yurt features plenty of space for a party of four, a queen-sized bed, a comfy couch to spread out on, and an optional full airbed if you need extra sleeping accommodations. There is a propane heater available for chilly nights, and a fan for the warm summer days.

The yurt features a full private kitchen, as well as a large communal fire pit and grill, and a picnic table which can comfortably seat 4.  We have a composting toilet for guest use, an outdoor sink, and a guest shower facility with plenty of hot water and pressure, all within steps of the yurt.

Whether you’re passing through on a road trip along California’s majestic landscape, or looking to spend some time getting to know the lush landscape of the Central Coast, we welcome you with open arms!

We are a nonprofit educational eco-arts farm and your booking supports environmental stewardship and arts education for underserved communities. Thank you for your support!

Our farm features a tent site in addition to the yurt. The bathroom and fire pit are shared amenities. We encourage social distancing during use of these amenities. All common spaces are disinfected daily.

We enjoyed our stay at this yurt, which is located on a farm in a little enclave of other yurts and tiny homes. (I think the other yurts and homes were occupied by people who live and work on the farm, as they all seemed to know each other.) Everybody was very friendly. Lots of friendly dogs and cats around, too (we love stays that include animals! If you are a light sleeper, being ear plugs as there was some barking at night.). The bed in the yurt was very comfortable, and we appreciated the little kitchen inside. There is plenty of room to stretch out and relax in the yurt. It got pretty toasty and warm during the day, and then cooled off dramatically at night. I would recommend bringing a flashlight, because the composting toilet near the yurt seems to no longer be available (it was padlocked while we were there), so you’ll need to hike down the hill back to the parking lot to use the Port-a-potty located there. We enjoyed kayaking at Elkhorn Slough, which was an easy half-hour drive—and highly recommended if you have never kayaked there!

The yurt is a delightful structure! We had never been in one. Such a cool space to spend time in.
The bed was super comfy and the kitchen set up was good. Rachel was responsive and helpful. The other folks and dogs on the property were all friendly. We enjoyed our stay.

It was a pleasure to host you Julia! We apologize for the miscommunication, there are in fact are two bath towels available to guests at all times in the armoire by the door of the yurt. We will update our listing to reflect that information. And you are also correct that there should have been a small pot in there for boiling water, a previous guest had recently removed that pan, and we missed that. It has since been replaced. Again our apologies for the miscommunication, and hope that you were still able to enjoy your visit!

What a great Yurt and a great family experience. Travis and Jessica are great hosts and the farm is in a great location. The yurt is spacious and well appointed. Comfortable furniture and great tiny kitchen. We are so happy we had a chance to check out the yurt and the Terra Cultura farm.

My partner and I wanted to get out the city but didn’t want to go out too far. I found this spot that looked super cozy since i’m not much of a real camper :P But this place has been a great sanctuary for our two night stay! Upon arrival, we were greeted with a warm welcome by the lovely Jessica and all the animals on her property. Her and her sister Rachel have been super sweet and kind every time we bump into them through out the day. We really enjoyed the yurt that we got to stay in and all the little amenities around us.
Hearing their mission on creating a sustainable, non-profit art and farm community almost gave me tears of joy. If you ever need a little getaway and want to wake up to some dogs greeting you while the horses are neighing, please support them! The propane heater and hot water was deff a plus during our stay (:

The hiking trails are only 20 minutes away while this small cute city, Aromas was only 5 minutes away and got to experience a really kind and warming hospitality from local residents. A nice refresher from the city we live in (SF) !
