Description

Just down the road from Jackson Lake, set up camp among shady trees and fresh breezes at Peavine Campground. One of the few spots near the lake with running water, this spot is perfect if you’re in the mood for some back-to-basics camping that still isn’t totally primitive. Hiking is just around the corner if you’re looking to escape into the wilderness.

Just four basic sites tucked in a little hollow right against the road. It's free, if you have a $30 a year Forest Adventure Pass. Single water spigot and one only semi-disgusting pit toilet shared by all sites. Along with neighboring Appletree campground, it is open year round, so good if you want to get some off-season camping in. Water may not always be available due to freezes though. The road is fairly quiet at night, so not a big bother, but weekend days are busy with sportscars and motorcycles, so keep an eye on your kids.

Free sadly means the civility level of your neighbors may be pretty low. Had to put up with low lifes partying past midnight here.
