Located in a quiet rural area backing onto the Cowichan Valley Trail and forest trails up Koksilah Ridge, our 10 acre property includes riparian forestland and a pond with its own dock. In conjunction with secluded neighbouring CVRD land, this pristine area provides a natural greenbelt through which deer, bear and cougar, and other wildlife roam unimpeded. Cedar and Big-Leaf Maple grow alongside alders, cottonwoods and firs. Bird-life abounds, and will sing you awake each morning. Follow the CV trail to the Holt creek or Skutz on the Cowichan River heading West, or head South-East to Kinsol Trestle and Shawnigan Lake. Visit our animals: Dreya and Finn, our two saddle horses, and our flock of black sheep (Welsh Mountain). Pet Summer, the Flemish Giant bunny at the barn, or inquire after a guided tour e-bike tour or just head off for a refreshing swim in the Cowichan River. You can also tour the Valley's many farms and vineyards by bicycle: Zanatta Vineyard's Damasco awaits you at their tasting room an easy 10 minute cycle from the farm. Check out our E-bike Rental site: www.broomstickebikes.ca We have tenting sites for bike-packers and others. Inquire for truckcampers.

Secluded School Bus Suite
Lovely Bus Camping
The converted bus stay on this property was amazing! We had a nice cozy sleep in this unique bus. There is also tent camping options on the property. There is a outhouse and well water to do your dishes. The bus was in a nice and secluded spot and even had a nice area set up close by to do your cooking at! There were two different spots to have a campfire with wood provided. Rupert had mentioned if we go down through the creek and keep going through the forested area into a clearing, we may see some Elk. We sure weren’t disappointed! We first went adventuring down to the creek which was so beautiful, large logs had fallen over the creek that we could climb onto, it was a lovely experience. Then through the bush we went to the open clearing where we hung out for a good hour. After about the first 20 mins we had an Elk walk into the clearing and hang out for a bit, followed by a black tail deer and another elk!! It was really cool. I would definitely recommend staying here, and I would go back in a heartbeat!!

Stay at Shawl!!
Wow!! What a beautiful property, my friend and I stayed at shawl farm over the weekend and we had the forest all to ourselves! So magical!! The communal kitchen was handy and the big fire pit looking out at the vast field was the best place to watch the sunset with your smores. If you want true forest camping experience please stay at shawl. The owner Rupert was so kind and really knew the area.
