Scotch Forest tent platform
Moi et mon conjoint avons adoré notre première expérience avec Hipcamp. Le terrain chez Billy était magnifique, intime dans la forêt et la plateforme était vraiment appréciée. Nous avons vraiment aimé notre expérience, un très beau week-end dans la nature, très tranquille et relaxant. Nous y retournerons assurément !

It was a very lovely and relaxing stay. We had peace and quite and a little corner of the forest to ourselves. First time camping with our dog and I could not have been more pleased. Our host was helpful and awesome, the composting toilet super clean. Could not have had a better first time Hipcamp experience :)

Scotch Forest tent platform
I absolutely loved everything at Billy’s campsite. The site was well maintained, clean and super calm. The host was extremely helpful and welcoming. Would 100% recommend!

A very nice place with the chance of seeing wild life. Very good host, helped us bring some of our gear to the site. We went in winter, looking forward to the next time. I recommend it to anyone.

Wow. A beautiful, private spot in the middle of a forest. The platform was great, the fire pit was perfect and I loved the added touches (picnic table complete with a little pumpkin and flowers from the forest). There’s beautiful trails to explore and the outhouse was super clean and comfortable. We enjoyed an autumnal weekend surrounded by fall colours. Billy was an exceptional host (as well as Mika). Don’t skip the eggs, they are the best I’ve had in Quebec. All in all, a magical stay. Can’t wait to bring my friends here next summer.

We had a great time staying on Billy’s property. We tented for one night with our dog. The site was very nicely set up for us and was only a few minutes walk from our car so we were able to make multiple trips easily. We also ordered a half dozen eggs and some firewood for our stay. The eggs were super fresh and delicious. The firewood was waiting for us at our site under a tarp and was enough for us to have an evening and morning fire.
Billy was a very friendly and gracious host. He was happy to talk about his property and its history and was very communicative as well.

Magical place, beautiful land. For a quiet night in the forest. The bathroom was unbelievably clean and built like it was straight out of a Tim Burton movie. We could hear owls at night and saw a deer during our walk in the woods. Very nice garden and warm welcome. Billy is a very attentionate host. Will go back and would recommend to anyone! :)

One of the best, if not the best, camping experience we’ve had! Billy and his family are great hosts!! Very nice, friendly, and considerate. They welcomed us with a basket of apples and flowers and he helped us carry our luggage to the site. The compost washroom is very clean! Overall, great host, great site (in the middle of a forest!!), and great location! I would definitely recommend!

Nous avons passé un excellent moment chez notre hôte Billy, un accueil personnalisé et des petites attentions qui font la différence.
Le lieux était calme, bien aménagé avec un coin feu et sa grille, une table, des chaises, les toilettes sèches et la tente surélevé. Je réitérerais et recommande cette belle expérience.

We knew looking at this listing that it was a good fit for us, but when we arrived our expectations were entirely exceeded. Our hosts were so hospitable and just wanted to make sure we were comfortable. It's easy to see they really care for their property and their home (which is so incredibly unique!) so it felt like such a great privilege to be invited to stay there. The tent platform is an amazing feature too because we got some rain and it keeps your tent nice and dry. Also despite the rain we got, the forest canopy offers amazing coverage. They also offered us some fresh tomato and basil from their garden that we got to eat for dinner. The smells and sounds were really relaxing and definitely the quiet escape we needed from the city. It was truly one of the best camping trips we've had in a while and we were sad to leave at checkout. We were also intrigued by the workshops offered and plan to do some when we come back!

Scotch Forest is the best site I’ve camped in over many, many years of bike touring. Billy and his family are kind, caring hosts who anticipated and accommodated everything we required and requested. Billy answered all our questions and enhanced our visit with many thoughtful touches … a personalized welcome sign, a flower bouquet and small collection of berries and tomatoes gathered from their property, and a nice overview of the history of the property and area. Oh, did I mention the site is spectacular? Simple put, the BEST!

Overflowing with tall trees, wildlife, and a serene atmosphere, Scotch Forest is the perfect getaway for nature lovers. I usually feel at home surrounded by trees, but Scotch Forest felt almost mythical, like something from a folk tale.
The tree tent is every person's childhood dream—a sheltered hammock floating high in the trees! The site itself is far from Billy's house and allows for a lot of privacy. It is quite hidden in the woods, but the path to it is very well indicated and I felt safe knowing that people live nearby.
In addition to the picnic table and fire pit, there is an outdoor bathroom, water station, and a variety of add-ons in case you forgot to pack something—or in my case—are wanting to try the local coffee! Billy and Emmalie were extremely welcoming and helpful to all my needs. Billy showed me around and told me a little more about the history of the land. Billy is a woodworker and craftsman, and I found it really inspiring how much care he puts into sustaining the land and the trees. I also tried my hand at craftsmanship when I took a stained-glass workshop with Emmalie. I had never done anything like it, but Emmalie made it very fun and accessible. I loved having a keepsake from my trip to bring home.
Denison (very close to Danville), Québec is a wonderful place to visit. The site is a short walk to Denison Lake and a short drive to Burbank Pond, a bird and nature lover's paradise. Being deep in the woods, while also being a short distance to nearby houses, allowed me to totally disconnect while also feeling very safe. I full-heartedly recommend booking a trip there. Scotch Forest is something straight out of a storybook!

On arrival we were greeted by a custom sign with our names on it and some flowers ( hand picked by the family). The campsite is an immersive experience in the woods, surounded by mature trees , it is the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature (very private). You can go rustic but trust me you will want to try the other options they have to offer ( local coffee, vegan pop corn on the fire etc). They are very responsive and organised. Before arrival we recieved an email with a list of things to do in the surounding area, this made it easy to plan our trip and to book a second night.
Scotch forest is the place to be!
