Mountain Shadow Lake and Farm
We had a wonderful time, the property was well maintained & private. We forgot our camp chairs and they happily offered to let us use theirs. We will definitely camp here again & hopefully for a longer stay.

We had a great stay here! We came during a rainy week so had two great days with the beautiful views and sunshine. Plenty to do nearby if you do have any rainy days as well. The lake has the most beautiful views and is very peaceful. Greg was very welcoming and helpful setting up the compost toilet and even bringing us our firewood add on in a tote to keep it dry in the rain. We would definitely recommend staying at this camp for a beautiful, relaxing stay.

Mountain Shadow Lake and Farm
Beautiful, quiet site. Greg was very welcoming and shared some of his muscadine grapes with us, as well as let the kids jump in the pool. We cut our trip short due to the weather, but are already looking forward to going back in the future! Great site for families and solo campers alike. Highly recommend!

Mountain Shadow Lake and Farm
Greg was welcoming and friendly. His farm your was full of in depth knowledge and you can tell he loves his vineyard. The pond was easily accessible, clean, and had plenty of room on the dock to lounge while watching wildlife. The pond offered fishing and wildlife watching as well as a nice place to paddle a kayak or SUP. The site was clean, secluded, and beautiful.

Host Greg was very accommodating and friendly, without being intrusive. We could pick our site on his farm and enjoyed being near the creek. A short walk took us to the pond where we could paddle and enjoy the dock. The views were gorgeous. The sites are nicely maintained. Everything was clean and the camping private. Greg was genuine and kind - we had a perfect camping experience!

Greg is awesome. As fairly new campers, Greg was helpful, courteous and welcoming to us. The property is drop dead gorgeous. Extremely private and the surrounding areas are quaint. I would highly recommend.

The camp site was everything we expected and more. The best way to describe it, is to simply list it out: 1) site is immaculate with portable toilet, sun shade, host provided portable water, picnic table, and shelf, 2) the creek is clear, refreshing and only steps away, 3) the trolling boat was so fun and the kids loved it, and 4) best host ever. Greg made sure we had everything thing we need and took extra steps to make sure our kids were having fun! We will definitely be going back!

Greg is a conscious host. His property is lovely. The fresh blueberries are a perk! The experience for us was a tad disappointing, though, since we expected more privacy and solitude. We were messaged 2 days before our trip that fires were not permitted, that was a bummer too. It was still a very peaceful week next to the creek with some adjustments. Greg spoiled us with a fan + a propane fire pit.

Greg’s place is beautiful and he was an amazing host! He responded quickly to our last minute request. It was the middle of July (a little toasty) so Greg brought us out a large battery powered fan and extra water as well as a generator for the air mattress. The vineyard is lovely with fresh blueberries in summer. We were able to eat the best ones right off the bush. Very quiet spot with a picnic table, fire pit and grill. Lovely spot that we can’t wait to return to!

My husband and I stayed at Mountain Shadow Lake and Farm this past week. We enjoyed it very much. We were able to recharge our batteries in the quiet peaceful setting. Our campsite was a short walk to the lake which has a gorgeous view. We enjoyed the kayak and Greg was kind enough to let us take a dip in his pool. They offered many extras including toilet, 2 kinds of fire pits, camp kitchen, and plenty of water. Our favorite part was our evening walks into the blueberry patches where we ate the biggest blueberries I’ve ever seen. It was a trip to remember!

Greg was a great host, very accommodating and attentive. We enjoyed a private spot close to water, and enjoyed fire pit in evenings. Great place to swim, kayak, and fishing was great..caught 3 bass! Close to Table Rock State Park where we spent an afternoon. We'll be back. Thank you!

Greg and his wife we’re super nice. The camp site had plenty of shade, near a creek fed from the small lake. Kayaks were perfect. Very quaint and peaceful.

I cant speak highly enough of Mountain Shadow Lake & Farm. First and foremost, the property is gorgeous, tranquil, and relaxing. Greg was the most accommodating host and ensured that my girlfriend and myself were taken care of. On check in day, Greg showed us the various sites and made his recommendation of which site is the better option. While we were setting up, Greg brought an outdoor toilet, propane campfire, and table for us to use. Additionally, Greg gave us a tray of delicious blueberries fresh from the bushes that grow just a mere 50 feet from the campsite. All in all, Greg made this trip much more easier than I expected and is such a gracious host. Be sure to pay the little extra for the vineyard tour as it was very educational and allows Greg to showcase his passion.

We had a wonderful 2 nights stay. Greg offered many add ons to our camping gear if needed. The lake is small so our daughters have been practicing paddling safely while we had a drink on the dock. the Kayaks provided by Greg are super nice. We had blueberries from Greg's garden. We have spotted rabbits at close range. Just felt we were at a friend's place as Greg and his wife made us comfortable. Also, the place is close to State Parks. Definitely go to Table Rock which is 10 minutes from there and provides many trails.

We had a lovely stay here! Greg is a great host and the logistics were simple. We especially enjoyed swimming in the lake and my daughter loved picking blueberries. Wish we could have stayed longer!

My family and I had a fantastic time at Mountain Shadow Lake and Farm. Greg provided many things to make our experience delightful (portable toilet, stove, fire pit, fan). When he saw that rain was coming our way, he brought us a little shelter. He went above and beyond to make it a comfortable and fun stay. I highly recommend renting his fancy fishing boat and kayak/stand up paddle board. Enjoyed walking in the creek and picking/eating delicious blueberries. Hiking the nearby waterfalls are a must too. Great for our family with two small children. Greg is a fantastic host and we hope to come back!

Wow! What a great spot and a perfect host!!! Great place to not have all the congestion of regular campgrounds. We stayed with one other family and Greg was fantastic about telling us where to setup and get us settled. Brought us a picnic table and even a huge battery powered fan as it got a little warm the last day. The lake is fantastic and made for great swimming and fishing. We put up an ez up canopy along with supplies deck umbrella and everyone had a spot to get out of the sun. The grounds are meticulously cared for and shows Greg’s attention to detail and the way he would want it if he were a camper staying at Mountain Shadow. We will go back! One of our favorites!

Greg and his wife were extremely kind and welcoming. When we arrived, they showed us around their gorgeous property and vineyard. They supplied us with an outhouse, a nice tarp, picnic table, and a propane fire pit. It was very private, and they have a large pond with a beautiful dock. There are many great hikes nearby, for inexperienced and experienced hikers alike! My friends and I loved staying here for the week, and we will definitely look forward to coming back!

We unfortunately camped during a very wet week. Rain before and during our stay made getting in a bit tricky. You are on grass, so when wet everything is wet. The property is peaceful, with moving water through a creek to lull you into relaxation. Dock and pond are a short walk from the designated sites, and there were baby geese to try catching a glimpse of. The host was always available, riding through the property several times a day, checking if you are in need of anything and helpful in suggesting nearby places to visit. One thing to note, AT&T service practically non existent. However, Verizon seems to have good coverage.
