(Last minute bookings may be eligible for discounted rates) Secluded camping on the S.Fork Caddo River. This amazing 80 acre property on Thunder Mountain offers one or two guests free use of kayaks, tubes, and a paddle boat for enjoyment in the large swimming hole area of the river. You will also have private access to our unique outdoor bathhouse overlooking the river and Ouachita Mountains. Camp on the river, on the large deck, or set up near your car in the pine and hardwood forest next to our cabin above the river. The cabin will be vacant during your stay. No other guests will overlap your stay. You can enjoy the views from the front and back porch and awesome three-tier deck. You may also use our propane grill or fire rings. The property extends across both sides of the river for almost 1/2 mile, so seclusion is abundant! Water and electricity are available outside the cabin. The bathhouse contains an outdoor shower, deep antique tub, and sink. There is an outhouse with flushing toilet available near the cabin.
We can only rent to 2 people max even though the property is large. But that's 40 acres per person!! :-) ATVs are not allowed to be used on the property.
Calendar - We keep the camping calendar mostly blocked until the cabin calendar fills in. For open dates more than a couple months out, just ask. The cabin is our primary rental, but this listing is for camping only and not for the cabin. If you don't see camping dates that you want, just ask and I'll see if we can move our cleaning days to make room for you. Need a cheaper price? Never hurts to ask especially if an open date is less than a couple weeks away. :-)
Cell service is poor for AT&T customers. AT&T works about 10% at the cabin (just in a couple spots); Verizon works ok near the cabin and on top of hills. WiFi calling works great close to the cabin.
The last 1/2 mile to the camping area is a rough dirt road with a steep hill just before reaching the cabin. Cars can make it if they aren't too low to the ground but a small SUV or truck is recommended.
118 steps from the cabin and parking area to the river.
Pop-ups and campers less than 18' long are welcome, but anything larger will not fit due to trees.
Naturists, nude camping, and skinny dipping is allowed as long as you sit on towels when using outdoor furniture. Also, please keep a towel handy if you are near the edge of the property. We don't need to know if you enjoyed being one with nature, and we don't have a problem with it. :-) Just switch off the outdoor security camera if it is not already off. (We tell guests where the switch is.)

Words cant describe how amazing this place is...and we didnt even enter the cabin! You can roam the trails for days and find all kinds of neat things. The outdoor bath and shower was just as amazing as it looked in the pictures! We didnt want to leave
We loved everything about our stay! The privacy, the outdoor shower and tub, the river access, the games, the bbq pit on the porch. Such a unique experience. Highly recommend!
Slice of heaven!
What a wonderful slice of Heaven!!! Perfect place to park our van for the night, squeeze in some fly fishing down on the river and relax in the amazing outdoor bathroom. Would love to return and rent the cabin sometime. They have seriously thought of everything! Todd was a great communicator and was quick to answer any questions that we had. Our only regret was that we only got to stay one night on our way up to Branson. We did not want to leave :(. Would be amazing during the cooler months!
I tent camped for a night at Todd’s place during a recent road trip and absolutely loved it! Todd was also very quick to respond to all of the questions I had once at the property. The outdoor bath house was the highlight for me. The decor had a super fun vintage vibe and you definitely can’t beat the view of the river from the tub! I hope to return in the fall or spring to stay longer so I can enjoy more of what the property has to offer as well as explore more at the national park and partake in other activities Todd highlights in his email guide. Definitely would recommend for a relaxing camping experience!
Camping on this land was absolutely amazing! They had so many accessible amenities and it was truly stunning and beautiful. We had a rejuvenating experience and enjoyed the property so much.
The best of river camping
One of our favorite spots to date. Amenities were plentiful, the soda machine visited daily, the river level and temps were perfect! We parked our camper van close to the cabin/fire pit area which was excellent for our needs (we could get wifi access and both shade/sun for solar panels). Days were spent down by the river, evenings on the deck enjoying a meal and conversation. The bath house was a dream and it seemed as though the tub was recently refinished. We greatly appreciated the string lights around the cabin area and the option to turn the security cams on at night. We felt safe at all times. Trails were lovely. A visit to grandma in Mt. Ida was shy of 30 minutes, one way. We will be returning!
