In 1862, Phillip N. Cogburn, my great-grandfather, was granted homestead for land by then President Benjamin Harrison. The Homesteading Act of 1862, provided public land grants of 160 acres to any adult citizen who paid a small registration fee and agreed to live on the land continuously for 5 years, after which they would be granted a deed to the land. Our family still privately own's some of this original land today.

Love being surrounded by big trees and near the creek. Great location and loved that there was no service. Great to unplug and really enjoy nature. Host were delightful and helpful.
Camping with my jack russells.
I loved everything about this place, we stayed in site 10 above Jack Creek, the sound was relaxing, the campsite clean, the space between you and other campers was massive so you would never feel cramped in with people all around you. The South Fork of the Caddo River was right there at the camp as well. I loved our host, she is very nice and I will stay with them again. This is the place to come as well to access the Albert Pike area that is just down the road. They have one cabin now to rent and plan to build others. This is a beautiful property, go see these folks you will be glad that you did.
This place was amazing. Off grid enough to enjoy the outdoors but close enough you can still run out to visit sites and activities. The owners are amazing. Showed us around, plenty of knowledge on the area and made sure we where always happy and taken care of especially during some storms. We will definitely be going back.
