You'll have a backdrop of woods and grazing sheep, with the Petit Jean Farmer's Market barn -- offering locally sourced produce, cheese (some made on the premises), baked goods, honey, preserves, meat, and crafts -- only steps away. The market operates on Saturdays, when hot lunches are often served, but it is open on a self-serve basis the rest of the week. Petit Jean State State Park is a very short drive, with spectacular hiking trails, a CCC-built lodge and restaurant, and a lake.
Campers are welcome to use the fire pit, grill, and trampoline, and they have access to the half-bath in the barn. They're also more than welcome to help Ed with the chores : )

This area was so scenic and quiet. I wish I had more time to stay and enjoy it. I was just resting for one night on a road trip to see family. My host was very kind. I love the sunset and the sounds from the sheep and cows
Cozy, quaint private camp ground!
Ed was very welcoming and the ammenities were awesome! It was nice to have a bathroom with a shower! It was also really close to the park! I felt like we were in a hallmark movie!
Ed was very helpful in finding his location in inclement weather. It is up a very steep and winding road that's currently under construction. There was a clean bathroom onsite.
Didn't want experience to end!
Loved it! This place felt like another home to us. We were treated like family by Ed & his wife. The Farmer's Market is great & is a healthy community gathering place. We bought many homemade & farm grown things. Such good wholesome experiences go on there: good "real" food & conversation, learning, animal life, stories by Ed, the great outdoors. We encountered our first armadillo friend! They have a real bathroom with a hot shower, good potable water, picnic tables not far off from where we camped, good tree cover. We had many beautiful moonlit Autumn nights spent by the fire or on walks. We planned for 3 nights but ended up staying several more because we just didn't want the experience to end! My 19 year old son is now fast friends with Ed.
"Thank You God for Ed & his farm!"
I have stumbled upon Ed’s Petit Jean Orchard campsite listing after having no success with the Petit Jean Park campsite availability, and to my luck I was able to snatch this gem!
My husband and I, along with our Siberian Husky and a couple of good friends went to explore Arkansas and it’s beautiful nature from great state of Texas during first weekend of October.
The location of the orchard is very convenient if you plan to explore the Petit Jean Park or just simply to enjoy nature at country side. Ed was absolutely the best host we could ask for, he gave us a very informative tour of the property prior to set up and was very welcoming and accommodating. A beautiful red barn was filled with fresh produce (the best tomatoes you will ever have) and delicious cheeses and baked goods.
Bonus-at night (if there are no clouds) make sure to set up your lounge chairs in the clearing of the property for some breathtaking stargazing. I guarantee you will see several shooting stars.
Overall. This was the best tent camping trip I have ever had and this is all thanks to Ed and beautiful property.
