Geocatchers, this is right up your alley! Picacho Peak Campground sits adjacent to—you guessed it, Picacho Peak, a mecca for geocaching—but, please, abide by park rules. And, we have one special request: please don’t create “social trails,” footpaths made by campers going off the designated beaten path. Many of the campsites in Picacho Peak Campground are reservable in advance—great for the pre-planners among us.

It is a bit pricey but the (free!) hot showers were so welcome after a long day on the road and the sunset over the saguaro cacti was magic.
