A hidden gem of all camps
This is one of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed with Hipcamp. Brad and Michelle are extremely welcoming hosts with a gorgeous property in “paradise valley”. They have a well managed and cared for farm with many free range animals and they even gave us some farm fresh eggs to cook one morning. The campsite is very private, and you get a great sunrise view as the sun comes over lookout point. This place exceeded all expectations and we hope to visit again!
Weekend away from huntsville
We loved Brad and Michele's land, animals, and hospitality! Our aim was to go camping for just a weekend getaway to disconnect from technology (minus watching the Texas A&M v. Alabama game 10/9/2021) , and this spot was perfect for it. There's grocery stores and food options nearby if needed and farms all around to watch cows and sheep spend their days moving from field to field.
We brought our two cats as well that are leashed trained since we planned on staying at the site the whole time. The spot we set up at was perfect for them. In between a few trees they could watch birds and squirrels, while still being far enough away from dense trees in case they came out of their harnesses and we needed to catch them.
Being a young couple that wants to own some land and animals in the future this spot and trip was an amazing reminder of the work it takes to get there and to maintain an area that can provide and spread joy.
My fav: authentic hosts and camping
This is our favorite camping spot. We’ve been twice now, this time bringing friends, and have plans to be back again! The views of Lookout Mountain are beautiful, the land is gorgeous and Michelle and Brad’s kindness is unparalleled. We got to get up close and personal with all the animals and have fallen for their sweet pups. We’ve been here in a converted van and then tent camped, both times in the same area on the Ranch. We’ve loved every minute of it, even in a full day of rain!
Enjoy restful retreat at springhorn
We loved staying at Springhorn! Our hosts were amazing. Gave us a tour, accommodated our tall van, and even shared some farm fresh eggs with us.
This site was so close to Mentone, about 8 miles from Desoto State Park and 23 miles to Little River Canyon. We enjoyed both while in town.
The campsite was beautiful. Up on a small hill and tucked under a nestle of old white oak trees was a very private campsite with a rock fire ring surrounded by a field of clover.
Their sheep graze in this field which was both charming and sweet to experience. We had beautiful sunsets and even more gorgeous sunrises from this little hill both nights and mornings we stayed here.
Michelle brought us some fire wood, laced with aromatic cedar logs for us to build our fire with. We cooked both our dinners by the fire and enjoyed the singing cicadas and the sunset.
It was peaceful and we had some of the best sleeps.
