It was a fantastic stay and they went the extra mile to make my fiancé’s birthday special. We’re looking forward to spending some more time out there!

Awesome place. The varying elevation of the property is just beautiful and makes you feel like you’re in the mountains. The property backs up to talledega natl forest so it’s serene and private. Marked trails lead you to a creek which you can hear babbling even the farthest campsites. The water is clear and cold and the rocks are perfect for sitting and relaxing. The hike from our car to the Hillside bell tent was steep but short, and we were a bit winded after carrying our cooler and stuff only because we are so out of shape. Oh and I have never been anywhere in Alabama with less mosquitos! I got maybe two bites during the four days we were there. Lemon eucalyptus oil works well against the noseeums, and anything is better than the mosquitos we are used to in Louisiana.
There’s an adorable outdoor shower with hot water next to a bell tent that houses a sauna. There is a toilet at the camp center with a door and toilet paper and hand washing and lights. There’s more primitive toilets (hole in the ground) nearer the tents.
The hillside bell tent was perfect. It was a luxurious way to camp for sure. The real bed was comfy and the deck made outdoor cooking easy. I never realized how nice it is to camp on a deck/platform. The solo stove fire pit on the deck has a grill top and puts out some serious heat so cooking over the fire was fun.
Dustin was cool, he was responsive to questions and was there to greet us but otherwise I didn’t see him much. They did deliver us some firewood the first day, and there was tons of dry kindling around our tent as well.
The tent sites are farther down a pretty steep hill from the camp center/parking area, so if you’re staying in one of those, pack lighter.
So awesome, will be back. Wish I could just live there!

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. Dustin was friendly and welcoming and the bell tent was perfect. We were concerned about the heat, going in late Aug. but the weather was beautiful and we stayed relatively cool at night. It’s so peaceful there! We will be going back in the fall. You can’t beat going to sleep listening to the sound of the creek nearby.

Dustin's property is both beautiful and impressive. He has built everything there over the last 5 years from the structures to the shower to the ridgeline trail. Everyone we met was welcoming and friendly. The tent was hot but the bed was comfortable and we appreciated the extra chairs and benches. Highly recommend taking a walk on the trails and HIGHLY recommend stopping at the Blue Falls up the road which has a little beach, deep swimming hole, and waterfall. Couldn't recommend staying here more!

We were in tent 2. Very easy walk with a toddler. The wood balcony was awesome and the inside of the tent made my 3 year old so happy...she didn't want to leave.

The swimming Creeks were easy to get to and a ton of fun, probably the best camping within 5 hours of our home...next trip will be just Dustin's land, we don't really need much else.

The tents spots are totally isolated but the place has a community feel, he did a great job of building the vibe right...Im recommending it to my friends, I forget if they listen to me...if they don't, you still should.

Very secluded, and so much fun! Definitely a little strenuous of a hike down to the tent if you are not used to any sort of elevation (we are flatlanders, and it got my heart rate pumping).
The walk to the shared creek is definitely worth it. You can spread out over the rocks, or swim with the fishes. The fish get a little mean though - they'll nip at you. The bell tent has it's own private access to the creek and it is 100% worth it. It was a refreshing way to start our morning.
The firepit is top notch. We were able to start a fire and cook our meals very efficiently, with no cleanup. The tent is a little discolored from the rainy summer, but according to Parksland's social media, it looks like they're upgrading next month. We'll definitely have to make a trip back once that's done! We didn't get nearly enough time to explore and hangout with only one night here.

We loved the freedom a clothing-optional retreat offers! Let loose and play some music! We loved splashing in the creek after our hike around the property! The tent in all its glory! The view of the creek by the tent.
