Camp with the Indian spirits.

This 10,000-12,000 year old Indian site with mounds created by the Indians is one of the most beautiful sites in Northern Alabama.

Bring a tent or sleep under the stars on this memorable bluff.

Hike over the 162 acres and scale the bluff for an exciting hike along the base of the rocks where Indians also camped long ago.

Great view, difficult to get to

Loved the view but definitely difficult to get to. We struggled in our 4 wheel drive car to get through some mud spots and even eventually had to just park and walk the rest of the way which about .75 miles. If you are thinking about staying here, be prepared to really off road and even carry all your camping gear. No parking either at the base of off road.

This place is AWESOME! Who knew that Alabama could have views like this? Sandra was an incredible host through and through… we had a little situation with booking and with her it was always smooth. If you haven’t been here, I recommend taking the trip!

I would like to say this place is horrible and totally not worth the visit, just to keep it as “our little secret,” but that would be totally wrong. This is one of the most beautiful campsites, beautiful any sites, we’ve ever seen. We were lucky enough to meet Sandra on our way in Saturday morning and she was the last person we saw until we left Monday. So much beauty. So much quiet. We enjoyed hiking around, although we never found our way to the base of the bluff. So we’ll try that again next time. Thank you, Sandra, for sharing your slice of heaven with us!

You will not find a better place to camp. I got to the site slightly before the sun began to set. Cell service is a little spotty so make sure to contact Sandra for details. If you’re not driving a four wheel drive vehicle hiking in isn’t bad. Just make sure you have a flashlight or a headlamp. If you get there and it’s dark, you may reach a point in the trail where you think it’s never going to end and only getting darker BUT I will tell you what you get to see is absolutely worth it! It was amazing waking up on top of the bluff because the scenery is amazing! Luckily either Sandra the have to he previous camper left some wood to burn but you may need to bring wood. Do not pass up the opportunity to camp here; if you’re an outdoor enthusiast looking for “the real deal,” this is it!

Not so private lands

Despite this Hipcamps unbelievable location high on a bluff, the property is not private. 4x4 is an absolute must to make it up to the camping site, but with no gates or other indicators that the property is privately owned, we were visited by a local upon arrival. At first glance it was a bit stand off-ish, as he was yielding a machete. But he left soon after we arrived and set up camp. Long story short, I was comfortable staying for the night but I definitely wouldn’t be comfortable if my wife stayed here with friends…

All that said, Sandra was a great host and communicative throughout the stay. Service (t-mobile) was solid at the site.

Absolutely beautiful! Totally worth the effort it takes to get to this spot. Like others have noted, a 4wd vehicle is necessary to drive all the way up to the bluff. We managed to get our 5'x8' rooftop tent trailer up to the bluff with a some effort. We stayed with our 4yr old and 6 yr old. The bluff is a solid 80 ft drop, but we setup markers for the kids and they had no trouble staying away from the edge.

There is pretty much no where to stake down. This spot would be best for a rooftop tent or hammock camping. There are some places to camp further from the bluff.

We will definitely come back!

We stayed at 180 Degrees for the second time and had a BLAST! The weather was great. The camp site is big enough for our friends to join us in their own tent. The view is great and the sunsets are even better. There is a safe place for a campfire and trees to put up hammocks. We plan to come back for a third time in the future!
** You absolutely need an off road vehicle to get to the site **

This place was easy to find & great for my friends & me to go camping. However it does require a vehicle that is able to drive on rocks/through very large mud puddles in the middle of the road & just rough terrain in general. Or else you will need to hike to the campsite which is about a mile from where the road begins to become rough. But once we got there it was absolutely beautiful! There was already a small campfire pit so it was easy to build a fire. Thanks for a great stay!
