Hang by the windy waters of Newport State Park. While there’s no official boat launch, nothing but your own perseverance is stopping you from taking out the canoe or kayak. Explore the 30 miles of foot and bike trails, fish for a bit, and end the day with a picnic before you reluctantly head back to the real world. Winter brings trails for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and skate skiing, so don’t think you won’t be back once the weather takes a turn... for the better?
