Part of a large tract of land, originally surveyed by George Washington, during the period of time that Charleston was being laid out and settled, also surveyed by Washington. In past centuries, the land hosted a blacksmith shop, a small Inn and other improvements. Originally one of the major stagecoach lines traversed the property.

Large areas/benches, were once in crops a few centuries ago. Huge secondary growth timber now covers these flat benches. Deep in the two major hollows, a few old growth trees still remain (800+ ) years old. At one time there was a grist mill and sawmills on the property. A cemetery from the 1600's still exists.

Since Aubrey C Skeen Sr died, a few years ago, the property has fallen into hard times through vandalism and theft. I, Aubrey Skeen Jr, intend to make a resurrection of the beautiful property and to preserve it for posterity.

I will have more elaborative feedback in the near future.
