All to yourself
100% of recent Hipcampers say this Hipcamp felt private.
A very peaceful place to get away from the hectic city life and enjoy nature. Children and pet friendly. Build a campfire under the stars and relax.  Large camping site and beautiful mountain views.  Acres of trails great for biking and hiking. Also a pond for catch and release fishing. This is private property, so it is not what you would expect from a "camp ground". The site is very secluded and private. If you are looking for quiet, this is your place! We are within an hour of Pipestem State Park. Other sites in driving distance are the New River Gorge, Babcock State Park, and Winterplace. We will greet you at check in and guide you to the camp site. Also, all of your firewood is included! You will want to bring ‘starter logs’.A very peaceful place to get away from the hectic city life and enjoy nature. Children and pet friendly.  The campsite is a short drive through the woods. You will have a beautiful open field all to yourself! If the night is clear, the stars may put on a show for you or perhaps the fireflies. There is a firepit for your camp fire and a gas grill for you to cook on. The fur babies love the open space to run and play in, so do the kids!

Peaceful easy feeling
Tom & Beverly's place was great! We had a Ford Explorer that was able to get back to our site, and we loved being in the open field! It was very peaceful and had everything we needed: fire pit, grill, picnic table, benches. We had three dogs with us, and they were able to run around and have as much space as they needed. Tom and Beverly were very accommodating and their land is beautiful.

Camping at it's best
I was driving thru WV to Pennsylvania as I have done many times before. I decided to stop for a day to explore WV. I like my seclusion so was looking for something out of the way. I found it at Bev & Tom's hipcamp! Tom was very accommodating as I was concerned (only because it sits low to the ground) about driving my car out to the campsite. I parked my car and he drove me out in his UTV (although its not a far walk). He told me to call him the next morning when I was ready to leave and he would take me back to my car (which he did). There was a tent already set up so I didn't even have to pitch mine! They have a firepit (that you can also cook on), gas grill, picnic table, bench, outhouse, & nothing else but wide open space with beautiful mountain views. Their place is about an hour out from 4 great waterfalls. All of which I visited. In a nutshell Bev & Tom are wonderful hosts, beautiful scenery, quiet, nothing but stars and some hoot owls. I will definitely be back to camp for several days to take in all the beauty WV has to offer! I highly recommend their hipcamp!

Beautiful, quiet, and private
Beautiful, quiet, and private place for us to tent camp. There’s a grill, a metal fire pit, chairs, etc. The night was quiet and full of fireflies, then stars, then a spectacular moon. Tom and Beverly were great - they communicated with us clearly and quickly and made sure we had what we needed and that everything worked smoothly. We hope we have a chance to return! An ideal first experience with Hipcamp.

Semi-primitive camping at it's best
Tom and Beverly were very accommodating and communicated with me before my stay. They are back off a gravel road and long driveway, up on a typical West Virginia hilltop. The campsite itself is about a quarter mile from their house on the edge of a clover meadow. You may have to walk back to it if too muddy or too rugged for your vehicle or the UTV. It has a fire pit, picnic table, shade trees, grill, rustic outhouse and seating. The view over the meadow is the nearby hills and sky. There is nearly no light pollution so you can see the stars clearly on a cloudless night. It was dry when I camped and there were hardly any bugs. Just birds and a box turtle out doing his thing. This is semi-primitive camping. There is no electric at the campsite but it did have solar lights so you are not in total darkness if that is a concern. On the weekend night I stayed all the state parks along I-77 were booked up. I intend to be back if the opportunity arises. Give this camping spot a try!
