Suquamish: dxʷsəqʷəb means “place of clear salt water”. The Suquamish Tribe has occupied this area for over 10,000 years.

The Port Madison Reservation is a "checker boarded" reservation; about half owned by the Suquamish Tribe and half "fee simple" property owned by individual owners.

This small community, on the shores of Port Madison (part of Puget Sound and the Salish Sea) has restaurants, a museum, beach access, pier, convenience store, gas, Wednesday Farmer's Market in summer and is centrally located to explore Seattle, the Kitsap and Olympic Peninsulas. The bus to the ferry (to Seattle) stops just a short walk from the campsite.

Our one acre site, within the boundaries of the Port Madison Indian Reservation, is covered with Western Red Cedars, Douglas Fir, Big Leaf Maples and other native plants.

We have a class B camper and enjoy exploring North America when not home hosting visitors. I have worked in the tourism industry, we owned a tour company, and LOVE to share our knowledge of the area with our guests. Also happy to leave you alone to enjoy Shabala, our "Dry place under the Cedars"..
