Ya buddy! Spencer Spit State Park is SO dope. 132 acres is yours to explore and there’s probably 132 ways to explore it. Stroll along the two miles of hiking trails down to the cerulean lagoon-enclosed sand spit the park is named for. A myriad of starfish, jellyfish, bald eagles, dolphins and other wildlife like to hang out in this beautiful place and they don’t mind you chillin’ too! There’s kayaks to rent, from a man who calls himself Dandelion Dan no less, or bring your own water vehicle. Watch as geese sweep across the meadow while you’re paddling in the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Even the picnic tables have killer views when you need to grab lunch! Even though this is one of the few parks in the surrounding San Juan islands accessible by car, you can also make a ferry reservation and arrive in style. Boat-in if you like; no matter how you get there, Spencer Spit is a retreat for your soul and a feast for your eyes.
