My 378 acres of land is in the beautiful Chehalis River valley, a vibrant community of farmers, loggers, and adventure seekers. Visit and you'll see why this area was home to some of the earliest settlers in Grays Harbor County (Metcalf 1853). A rich history of logging can be seen in the area including remnants of a railway built by Schafer Brothers Logging Company to bring logs from the mountains to the Chehalis River. The large booms of logs would be floated down the river to the mills in nearby Aberdeen when the water levels were high enough. This working farm, operated by two prominent farming families in the valley, grows peas and corn for the cannery in Chehalis, and sometime wheat and barley. Many of the water features and surrounding forests have been placed into a permanent federal wetlands conservation program to protect habitat and water quality for future generations of people and the abundant wildlife. Come see for yourself the active beavers, grazing deer, graceful cranes, howling coyotes, and migrating ducks. I work hard to keep the exploration trails open and make this a fun place to camp. I'm happy to now offer access to this magical place to Hipcamp visitors like you.
