Ross Lake

The best camping near Ross Lake, Washington.

Scenic lakeside views where you can really get away from it all! Ross Lake is the perfect place to relax, unwind and soak in nature's beauty.

With plenty of sleeping options, the yurt would be a great place to come in a group. There is one queen, a full, a twin with a pullout bed, and the couch.
A few of the sheep were timid, but most will come right up to you as long as you have food in hand!
Home sweet home!
The yurt is nestled back across from the fields, just up the driveway from the main house.
We had some rain throughout the evening, but didn't even mind because of how cozy we were inside!

When visiting Ross Lake, expect to be dazzled by its sparkling serene waters and alpine trees as far as the eye can see. Most folks choose this backwoods location to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. If you really want to put down the cell phone and unplug you'll want to stay at the floating cabins of Ross Lake or at Cougar Island Boat-in Campground. A remnant from the old logging camps of yesteryear, the floating cabins are made from old-growth red cedar and are only accessible by ferry or boat, so plan accordingly! If boating in to your campground sounds a little too secluded for your taste, there are plenty of campground options accessible by vehicle in the Northern Cascades. Camping on private land, at Goodell Creek, Newhalem Creek, and Colonial Creek campgrounds all have campsites suitable for both RV and tent campers, with some spots sitting right along the Skagit River or Diablo Lake. Whether you're up for backcountry backpacking or lakeside lounging, good times are waiting for you at Ross Lake.
