Creekside Forest Bike Trails and RV

7 sites · RVs, Tents56 acres · Chehalis, WA
We are located on top of Bunker Hill nestled between the Dunn creek and Chehalis river. Our property is 54 acres of mixed biomes including old forests, open meadows, and creek side trails. We are located right off Chandler Road, off of Highway 6. You turn right onto Labri road and you're on the property after going through a gate. The dispersed camping site offers various sites for camping attached to a main trail that parallels the Dunn creek down to the Chehalis river. They are conveniently accessible off the logging roads which cross with Labri road after you've passed the second gate. If you take the logging road to the left you will come up to a tree line where you can park and either take the trail to the left or right where you will find ample places to camp. You may camp along the trail or closer to the creek in many areas. There is also a bathroom for dispersed campers with a full shower located on the first floor of the large red barn before the RV sites. Dispersed camping is available @35$/night There are four RV spots with full onsite hook-up. Two of the RV sites are paved and lit with ground lights and are prioritized for heavier rigs. The other two sites are on grass. Water is accessible throughout the area. We do not allow dumping of grey water or sewage at our property but there is a dump station just 1 minute away at Rainbow Falls State Park. The site is located on a hill so you get very nice view of sunsets and sunrises. For those who enjoy bird watching the nearby fruit trees bring in many birds. @50$ /night We are an ideal location for those who love the outdoors or just want to have private family events. Located right on the Willapa Hills Trail, 6 mi from Jones Creek Brewing, 7 mi from Evey's Cafe & Pe Ell, 20 mi from I-5, 69 mi Westport, 79 mi from Mt St Helens National Park, 82 mi from Long Beach, 89 mi from Mt Rainier National Park, 94 mi from Olympic National Park

Reiki Ranch RV Camping

8 sites · RVs, Tents25 acres · Chehalis, WA
We were teaching Reiki (energy healing classes) by going on the road to hotels and seminars, but we wanted a peaceful place with a country setting to teach these training classes. We found this beautiful place with spring water to drink and lots of forest land behind our 22 acres and we have been here 21 years. We are into natural/alternative healthy living and energy healing. We are good stewards of the land and will be happy to share it with you.

R&R Retreat. Digital Detox.

3 sites · RVs, Tents40 acres · Centralia, WA
This 40 Acre parcel has been in my family since the 1870's when my Great^4 grandparents homesteaded it. For the first 50 years or so, It was used as a hay field and cattle pasture, but it has been managed as a tree farm ever since and we are still doing periodic selective harvests. It was handed down through the paternal family to my Great Uncle, who passed away in 2013 and deeded it to my 2nd cousin in the will. My Dad and I bought it from my cousin, who lives in Arizona, together. Then my Wife and I bought my Dad out with our share of the profits from our first commercial thinning.Although I plan to do some minor harvesting in the future, I no longer intend to do any clearcutting. Selective harvests only. I hope that campers will make ample use of windfalls and other debris to keep the fire risk low. I also use the property as a release site for wildlife caught as part of my urban nuisance wildlife business.

Pitch your tent in a few areas you pick, there are Mountain Bike and Little kid ATV trails around the property as well. For more extensive ATV trails Capital Forest is about 30 minutes away. There are powered and non-powered RV sites. Water is available at the water station but not directly at the camp sites. We are pet friendly. We offer firewood for sale on site, camp fires permitted outside of a burn ban. Guests love staying here: "Dean's acreage is a dream! We stayed there in our motorhome and absolutely loved it. We have two dogs and they are picky about making friends but adored Deans dogs. They are the sweetest and make the camping even more enjoyable. Dean was kind enough to show us his Meadery and the property so we felt comfortable exploring and walking around. We would definitely recommend it for other campers whether you have an RV, tent, van, etc. For reference we comfortably parked our 31 ft motorhome and we were able to hookup to electricity (only available in one spot so inquire with dean!). There is a shower and toilet available for use in a separate building from his home in the backyard."

The best camping near Rainbow Falls State Park guide

Overview

About

Step into this 129-acre patch of Washington's natural heritage. The park covers a rare old growth forest teeming with cedar, Douglas fir, hemlock, and other old growth trees. At the focal point is the humble namesake waterfall with a spray casting rainbows into the sky.

With 3,400 feet of shoreline along the Chehalis River, this park is a haven for fishing and free swimming (Who needs beaches anyway?)

There are also 3 miles of lush multi-use trails through loamy woods. Explore them on foot, by bike or on horseback. If that's not enough to satisfy your trail cravings, nearby Willapa Hills State Park Trail offers 22 miles of scenic beauty.

Thanks to the nearby trail, camping here is always popular. Rainbow Falls offers more than 50 sites, including horse camping sites, hiker/biker sites, and RV sites. You also find a dump station and restrooms with token-run hot showers. Book your site in advance to guarantee your spot.

Notable campgrounds

  • Standard Campsites: Enjoy the classic camping experience with 40 sites set amid the park's natural beauty.
  • Partial Hookup Sites: Eight sites offer added convenience for campers with partial utility hookups.
  • Group Camp: Ideal for larger gatherings, this camp accommodates up to 60 people with 14 camping units.

Tips for snagging a campsite

  • Book early to secure your spot, as the park's popularity can lead to quickly filled reservations.
  • Consider visiting during the off-peak season for better availability and a quieter experience.
  • Keep an eye on cancellation policies and last-minute openings for unexpected opportunities.
  • Explore nearby camping options to maximize your chances of finding the perfect site.

When to go

The best time to visit Rainbow Falls State Park is during the summer months when the weather is warm and the park is fully accessible. However, the park's beauty can be enjoyed year-round from 8am to dusk. Winter visits offer a tranquil escape, though some amenities may be limited.

Know before you go

  • Ensure you have a Discover Pass; an annual pass is $30, and a one-day pass is $10.
  • Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a leash at all times within the park.
  • Check for any burn bans or fire restrictions before lighting a campfire in designated areas.
  • Accessible campsites and restrooms are available for visitors with disabilities.
  • A recreational license is required for fishing in the Chehalis River, available through the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife.
