Some 15 years ago, we bought this property because of its beautiful old growth timber, serenity and riverfront. It was overgrown and you could barely walk into it. Taking our stock trailer to sleep in and bring tools, it took us a full weekend of work to cut a driveway in. After a couple more weekends of working, we opened up the interior for us and friends to be able to camp.
At a later time, I had a gorgeous show pony for sale. A gentleman came to look at her for his daughter. During our conversation we found out we were neighbors at Kettle. He was a contractor and I needed a good driveway put in, so we did a little trading. He did a fabulous job developing the driveway.
Because of my busy lifestyle competing on horses, we don't use the property as much. When I saw Hipcamp, I knew it was a great opportunity to let others enjoy this property as much as we do. Floating down the river is a very nice, relaxing adventure. The abundance of stars at night is overwhelming, something you don't see living in a city. I thought it would be noisy being across the river from 395, especially on the weekends, but that is not the case. The quiet, serenity and seclusion this property offers is complete bliss.
