A Taste of Whidbey

Take a break from the city and connect with nature by staying at our magical farm property located on the very south end of Whidbey Island, WA (12 minutes from the Clinton ferry dock). You can enjoy such activities as swinging in one of the many hammocks, getting goldfish pedicures, feeding some of the sweet animals, singing with the parrot, doing goat yoga or goagility (don't bother Googling it because it doesn't exist anywhere else), picking fresh fruits and vegetables for dinner you can prepare in our outdoor cabana kitchen, eating s'mores at one of the many firepits, visiting the beautiful flower gardens or simply enjoying the peace and quiet. Wildlife galore including bald and golden eagles, red tail hawks, deer, raccoons, heron and coyotes. Some nights, we have live music in the evening by one of South Whidbey's amazing bands and beer flowing from the taps built into the wall of the cabana. It is just me and an occasional worker operating the property so you may see us weeding, milking goats, feeding farm animals, or watering some of the many gardens. You are encouraged to participate in activities on the farm and children are welcome to do the same. We are 5 minutes from Bailey's Corner Store, Whidbey's best burger joint, which has great music various nights of the week, and Ogres Brewery which also has great entertainment and beer. Whether you come to escape or to connect, you will find it here. NOTE: This is a working farm we have animals, dirt, sticks, bugs, and poop, and lots of opportunities to "connect" with Nature. All of our amenities are shared spaces, designed to foster community. You will find good signs with clear communication here. All of our lodgings are off-grid with no electricity or running water. Water, electricity, and wifi are available in the kitchen, garden, cafe, and lounge areas. Please bring battery-operated lights, bedding, and a pillow, unless otherwise noted. Whidbey Island Christmas Tree Farm

4 sites ¡ RVs, Tents20 acres ¡ Freeland, WA
We are a 20 acre tree farm in the making on beautiful Whidbey Island. The property is rough graded with lots of areas to explore. No water. Tons of fire wood to glean. Close to town for supplies but quiet and crazy stars at night. We have cleared two of the cedar groves on the south side, and they are perfect campsites. The sites are 75'-100' apart, more private than a state park, but close enough that a bigger group would feel close. Portable Toilet is on site 100' from the Big Cedar site. May through October Cedar Hallow- Our original campsite, sports a hammock, a picnic table, a fire pit, & good area for 2 tents, probably 6 people. The site has huge cedar trees all around so it's filtered sunlight most of the day, & warm in the summer! Big Cedar- Our bigger site. Equipped with a fire pit, a picnic table, hammock, and space for 3-4 tents, probably 12 people comfortably. There is a dirt road that circles the property, it's great for walks and animal viewing but can get muddy in the rain so be prepared. Parking is a gravel lot directly across the little dirt road from the sites. Unload at the site then move to parking as to not block the road. Trucks with campers can pull tight to a site but don't pull into a site please, obey standard fallen tree limb boundaries. The great wide open forest to the south allows for nice nature calls bathroom walks, go deep. Thanks

Fern Gully

10 sites ¡ Tents15 acres ¡ Greenbank, WA
Hello all. We are taking a break for 2024. See you in 2025! We are bringing a lovely old horse farm back to life and have found some incredible places to camp. Come enjoy our 15 acres while lounging in the stargazing hammock circle or enjoy some privacy in the peaceful forest. We are always adding to our land and building a place to remember. Nestled in Greenbank Washington on Whidbey Island. This 15-acre farm is just starting out... it takes way more work then this city girl knew how to do. You can find seasonal fruit like Blackberries, Cherries, Apples, and Salmon Berries in abundance between July-September. Lots of wildlife roam our open fields and wooded surroundings. Bald Eagles, Red Tail Hawks, and Barn Swallows fly overhead while Quail and their little babies run around the property. We are visited by many deer and the occasional coyote (they are afraid of us, so you don't have to worry about them hanging around). We are a small family and a Grandma, so you may see us working the field, building a structure, or just laying in the stargazing hammock circle. We have no problem giving you space or you can come hang out, we love meeting new people and have tons of tips about Whidbey. (Like, the blueberry stand in Freeland, Mutiny Bay Blues, is DELICIOUS. We can let you know if the stand is open and where it is or you can find them on Instagram.) Fern Gully is 2 minutes from amazing sandwiches and cold Topo Chico (sparkling mineral water) or a bottle of wine at Greenbank Pantry. It’s a 6-minute drive to South Whidbey State Park, where you'll find great hiking along the coast. Just 5 minutes to Lagoon Point County Park where you can fish and watch for whales. The always awesome, Greenbank Farm is 4 minutes up WA-525, there you can find Whidbey Pies, food, wine, cheese, art, and great hiking trails with fantastic views of the Puget Sound, as well as a large off-leash dog park. Also, if you are looking for some, on-the-water fun check out Whidbey Island Boats and Boards at Wibb .us (i can't write out the entire website, so just omit the space) You can rent kayaks or paddleboards. I would like to mention this farm believes Black Lives Matter, magic is real and we are LGBTQ+ allies.

We have a gorgeous covered area and deck with propane mini BBQ and bench seating, full water and 30 amp power hook-ups, and beautiful views of the surrounding farm fields and a one hundred year old barn (PLEASE don't access the barn area or fields, it's not ours but the views are great!)  Lots to do around the area, including Finnriver Cidery, hiking in the Olympic Mountains and the Victorian town of Port Townsend. We now have decent wifi you can use, so option to come and work remotely! (Unfortunately we don't have tons of space for kids or dogs to run around, but definitely plenty of nice grassy area to set up tents, yard games and a campfire). Our site includes wifi, picnic table, and potable water. Campfires (outside of a burn ban) and pets permitted!Guests love staying here: "Gorgeous spot to sit, relax and take in the sunset across the farm fields before tucking in. We visited for one night with a 10.5’ tall camper van rented from Cabana, which fit easily under the shelter with plenty of clearance. The shelter itself is a great spot to get outside and eat a meal, and the rocking chairs in the yard were chill too! An occasional loud truck will go by on the nearby road, but not bad. We slept fine. Walk to Finnriver Cidery for dinner (yum)"

9Mile-Marrowstone Island

4 sites ¡ Lodging5 acres ¡ Nordland, WA
Nine Mile Adventures- Marrowstone is located at the end of an intentionally underdeveloped short plat. We became stewards in 98' at the ripe age of 21. Anything done or added to the land and setting was by our hand. Including the few small clearings of selectively cut trees to hand pouring and hauling water for mixing cement via our backs. We sure do hope we are doing her right! our plan? to leave as much untouched as possible. The property is made up of over 5 acres and is heavily treed with Grand Firs, large Western Red Cedar, Big Leaf Maple, Alder, Doug Fir, and many other native shrubs including edible berries such as huckleberry, salal berry, salmon berry. Micologists (mushroom hunters) are sure to find the treasure they seek growing fruitfully in these forests. Neighbors live symbiotically with the land, many are without electricity or city water as guests will experience as well. Stop by our seasonal farmstand located along driveway in the. Browse our collection of homegrown/sewn/collected and created inventory everything from seeds starts to home decor + fashion all on offer inside a '71 VW BUS, you'll get an idea of who we are pretty quick!.
