My family bought this property from a wonderful man renowned in the world of plant pathology. My father once asked him, "George, what is the secret to a long and happy life?" George took a deep breath and exhaled. He smiled, a twinkle in his eye, and said, "Randy, (dramatic pause), don't worry, {another lengthy pause) don't hurry." We are fortunate to live here, and we want to share the beauty with you. Please stay here and take a moment free of worry and free of hurry. About the hosts: Camas and her father, Randy, co-host this property. One or both will be onsite at all times should any issue arise. Please message if you need a last-minute booking and it appears to be blocked. We can't do an "instant book," but there's always a possibility that we can accommodate you. About the site: This 17-foot 2005 Jay Feather Ultra Lite trailer is clean and cozy - perfect for one or two people. A third person is welcome, but it will likely be a little cramped. The double bed has a memory foam mattress and is made-up with quality sheets. Towels are provided at no extra cost. The kitchen has a 3 burner propane stove and oven, a small fridge, a microwave, and sink. Coffee, tea, tea kettle, French Press, creamer, and sugar are provided, as well as a few dishes, a pot and pan, and utensils. The spring water is sourced directly from our property and filtered, so you can enjoy it from the tap! In my opinion, it's some of the best water around - feel free to fill up before you depart. The site is set back from WA-State Route 106, but only by about 20 yards. There is traffic noise during the day, but it's not too bad, and it is typically pretty quiet at night. Hopefully you enjoy the sounds of wildlife ~ birds, lapping waves, and even a creek add to the experience. A panoramic view of the estuary is one of the best parts of this property. It's dreamy, really. With the tide changing every 6 hours, you just can't get bored. You may fall asleep to tide flats and wake up to what feels like a lake. If you like being on or in the water - bring some kayaks, surf or paddle boards, and some high quality water shoes (never go barefoot!). You will have access to 400 feet of private beach and tide flats. Kayaking is tide dependent - recommendations for paddle times will be in the binder. (Currently closed to harvesting 6/23) If you have your shellfish license, feel free to harvest a few oysters or clams (depending on DOH recommendations) . Be aware - it is a rustic beach, and it is across the highway, so watch for traffic and watch your step on the beach. Our house is within sight of the trailer, but you have to make an effort to see it. From our house, we can only see the parking spot, and due to shrubbery & a shed, we can't hear talking voices, so it is pretty private. We do have 2 very friendly, small dogs who will undoubtedly alert us to your arrival, but they stay on our deck and quiet down right away. A welcome binder and maps will help you get an idea of the area. For a tiny town, Union has a LOT to offer - there are several dining choices within a few miles. Fischer's Place on the Estuary
My stay was perfect and just what I needed. The camper was clean, well-equipped, comfy and cosy. The views were amazing, complete with seals, birds galore, and an amazing sunset. I especially enjoyed taking my coffee down to the water in the morning and just taking this paradise in. I put my kayak in down the street in Union and enjoyed a lovely paddle to the estuary and back. Camas was so kind to leave a tide schedule for me! I'm a light sleeper and have pretty strong noise aversion (misophonia) and the car noise wasn't a big deal for me. It gets a lot lighter at night, but I wear sleep headphones, regardless. It will start up again pretty early in the morning, but it won't stop me from staying here again. The extras waiting for me (flowers, berries, small snacks) made me feel extra welcome, too! Camas was extremely attentive through app messaging, so nice, and completely respected my privacy. This area just has everything and I recommend it all, including the 30 minute drive to Hama Hama Oyster Farm & Saloon. I would (and very likely will) stay with Camas and family again in a heartbeat!

Best Trip Ever!

Absolutely perfect place! Amazing view, wonderful hosts, and tasty treats! We were welcomed by a hand typed letter and some welcoming gifts, which were so sweet since it was my fiancés birthday trip. We stayed a week, and wished we could stay even longer! Camas and her father were so sweet to us, the best hosts ever(great conversation too!) We are definitely looking forward to coming back again.

A Charming Little Retreat

Initially, we chose Fischer's Place as a good place to launch from for various activities. We were not expecting to be totally enchanted by the location, the incredibly warm and thoughtful hospitality of Camas and family. So there is the sound of cars on the road in front, but the lovely, cozy little trailer that was home for a couple days made up for it for us. Loved Fischer's Place!

Amazing Views and Personal Touches

The view of the Olympic Mountains and Hood Canal from the camper is amazing, and it was just a delight to look out the windows or go down to the water, and watch bald eagles, seals, herons, etc. The camper is cozy but well-appointed, and we loved the personal touches from Camas (e.g., fresh picked berries and a bouquet of flowers).

Small touches and personalized correspondence set this apart from other accommodations anywhere. The welcome letter even acknowledged that the fresh flowers left for me might be difficult to carry by bike. Immaculate and appointed with everything a traveler might need. Like that perfect restaurant you hesitate to tell others about, lest it become hard to get a table.

What an amazing place to stay. The trailer setup is perfect for a couple. The personal touches and amenities supplied by Camas make the trip so much more enjoyable. She thinks of everything. It was so thoughtful to walk into the trailer and be greeted with flowers. There was fresh cold well water in the frig along with creamer. I would highly recommend staying there.

Our stay was amazing. Our host was quick to respond and had great communication during our stay and provided excellent recommendations for the area. I loved the fresh flowers and small touches she added to personalize our visit. The camper had everything you need for a great getaway. The view is spectacular, it was private and quiet. I have stayed in so many places across the PNW and this was by far the most special experience I’ve had. The host was so thoughtful and communicative and made that every part of my stay was taken care of. The private beach access to sit and watch seals and eagles was the highlight of my entire trip. The town is so cute and has so much to offer. The bed in the camper is THE MOST COMFORTABLE BED I have ever slept on including my own and I was very sad to have to leave it. This was the most perfect place to spend my birthday in peace. I wish every place I stayed could be hosted by people like Camas.

I keep coming back here because i love to photograph eagles. The camper is so cozy and has everthing needed for a stay. It's also very clean and extremely safe for a solo traveler. Camas, the hipcamp owner, is the best!

Honestly one of the best Hipcamp experiences I've had, I highly recommend! The RV was clean, well maintained and extremely cozy. The views of the estuary were amazing, even with heavy fog and rain. The host was incredibly communicative, and welcoming. I'll definitely come back in the future 😁

10/4/2025-10/5/2025 We were looking for a night away to spend my birthday. We couldn’t have picked a more perfect place for us. This was better than any hotel we could have Chosen. The set up Is perfect. She put so much thought into making our arrival special. From the personalized note/instructions, the flowers, little patio over looking the water to the privacy fence to the easy access to the trailer. The host was very responsive and it was soooooo clean inside. We will definitely be back to enjoy it again!

What an incredible slice of perfection. Camas is an amazing hostess, providing beautiful flowers and welcome treats, fresh fruit from the property, and a safe van place to rejuvenate. The views were spectacular and I counted more than 25 birds during my stay. The final night, Camas was kind enough to let me know the bioluminescence were visible. Pure magic from the shoreline. This is definitely a spot worthy of visiting and returning to.

Camas was so thoughtful with all the little touches. Cozy with stunning views. We had eagles flying maybe 30 feet in front of us. Very clean and amazing sunsets. Would definitely recommend and would love to stay again!

It is the first time we have been staying at this cabin. It is a tiny space but it is enough for two people staying. It can fix for couple with small kid with a queen bed and a single bed above. We can cook our meal. It is a quiet and private place. There is a good lake view. The owner, Camas she is very nice person. Before we left, we had a chance to meet her and she gave us a bag of cherry that she picked from her farm. We will come back here one day. Recommend for people who want a quiet and private.

This RV had everything I needed, from a stove & shower to views & solitude. It was easy to drive to hiking trails or beaches nearby. There were fresh flowers on the table that made the space feel so sweet. You can hear cars on the road, so i recommend earplugs for very light sleepers, yet there isn’t a ton of traffic going by. I thought this was perfect for one person and I’d stay here again!

What a perfect little hideaway! Camas has the trailer all fixed up, warm, welcoming and homey. She went above and beyond: fresh flowers, all the supplies of a hotel room, even coffee, creamers, and more. Plus the salt water and mountains! Seals, eagles, herons and more. The road is close by, but still very quiet at night. I can't wait to go back.

Super cute peaceful safe and right down the road from a marina seafood restaurant, cafe and shops. Up the road the main river. Beautiful views of the sound and the mountains. Host is amazingly accommodating. Went out of their way to find us boots to go explore in. Don't need to bring anything!!! Best part! Everything you need is provided and talk about the small touches. Fresh flowers a welcome package and personalized welcome letter with instructions and guidance to all you need on premises and amenities nearby. Would definitely do again. Just wonderful and the price you just can not beat!!!!!

Had an amazing stay here! The hosts were super welcoming and even had a sweet surprise for my birthday, which made it extra special. The views were incredible—saw eagles, seals, and so many birds. Just a really peaceful, beautiful spot. The fire pit was perfect for hanging out at night, and the whole vibe of the place was just relaxing and exactly what I needed. Great hospitality, great scenery, and just an all-around awesome experience. Would definitely come back!

Staying at Camas' place was such a beautiful and memorable experience! The view from the trailer was absolutely breathtaking and we got to see many eagles, heron, and seals playing right outside the door while having our morning tea. Camas was incredibly responsive before and during our stay, and gave incredible recommendations (yes, you do have to try Olympic Mountain Ice Cream). The thoughtful touches to the trailer (like binoculars, coffee and fresh flowers) and Camas' excitement to share her beautiful community made our stay exemplary! We can't imagine staying anywhere else for future trips to the Hood Canal!

Intimate, well appointed camper for

The views were beautiful, especially sunrise on the tidal flats. The shower was surprisingly wonderful. Camas provided little treats, fresh blackberries, and flowers, all of which was a warm welcome to a private getaway.
