Camping right next to the Hood for all my Outdoor OGs! Never mind that Belfair State Park’s ‘hood is where the Hood Canal meets the Pacific, this place is the real deal. Come check out the warm summer breeze blowing through the coastal grasses and saltwater tide flats. The beachfront here is ideal for swimming and kitesurfing, while the multiple creeks in the park bring epic salmon runs every fall. Gravel beaches slope gently into the water, making it easy to drag your kayak down to the shore for a quick paddle or a multi-day trip from one coastal park to the next. The park is characterized by its flat spaces near the coast, which offer prime wetland habitat for birds and open fields for beachside sporting. The land meets the sea gently and beautifully in Belfair. Hood rats rejoice.
