Acquired by the Turner Family through an original land grant pre-dating the Revolutionary War, Turner Mountain has remained in the same family for many generations.  During the Civil War, Edward Carter Turner writes in his published diary of having stood on the rock there in front of the chairs and, with a pair of 'field glasses,' watched the Confederate Rout during the battle of Upperville to the West on June 21, 1863.  It has been host to many private events and weddings over the years, including a 'field party' and seated dinner for 200 hosted by Garden and Gun Magazine and Land Rover.  Wells Fargo Bank also used Turner Mountain to shoot its calendar several years ago, in preparation for launching its eastern expansion into Virginia.

We hope you enjoy your stay, and will help us protect this wonderful piece of heritage and history.  For your enjoyment and entertainment, there are many local wineries very close by, fine dining, and Salamander Resort and Spa featuring horseback riding, zip lines, and a wonderful spa experience.

We look forward to meeting you!
