Douthat State Park
A perfect spot for getting away in peace and quiet with the fam.
If you're looking for a quiet getaway that puts you in the midst of stunning scenery, this Virginia state park is for you. No Wi-Fi or cell service lets you commune with nature (or your family).
Hang out at the 50-acre lake to enjoy swimming, boating, and seasonal trout fishing. There is also 4 miles of stream fishing if you prefer. Canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards are available for rent.
Want to head into the mountains? Ride your horse or mountain bike, or set out on foot over 43 miles of trails. Visiting the lodge restaurant makes you feel as if you've stepped back in time, with hearty, yummy food.
32 cozy cabins await you at the park. They're rustic but fully equipped—And hey, they have AC for those hot summer months. 87 campsites are also available. All but the Lakeside campsites have water and electricity,
