You want views? Mt. Ascutney State Park is chalk full of ‘em! Hike up to the summit (or drive) or explore nearby trails and climb the lookout tower. If you’re feeling really adventurous (and properly equipped) there’s even launches for hang gliding in the park, you can really get a bird’s eye view here! There’s a ton of history in the park too, you can pee in historic restrooms carved from Mt. Ascutney’s own granite. How’s that for history you can really use? And when you’ve worn yourself out for the day, there’s plenty of camping to call home. Mt. Ascutney is a green, Vermont dream for those looking to get out and explore.
