Mountain home tent sites is on a nearly 200 acre historic hill farm in Tunbridge, VT. The land was cleared for farming in the 1790's and since that time has had only four land owners. The family that cleared the land is buried in a plot on the farm. Over the years the farm has undergone many changes, but dairy farming has been a consistent activity. Today Mountain Home Farm milks six Guernsey cows and makes butter, buttermilk and ricotta cheese. The forest is actively managed for firewood and saw logs. There are also beef, pigs and horses raised on the farm. The land is incredibly diverse from high a exposed hill top, to deep a forested mountain brook and everything in between.
