In its heyday, which was way back in the late 1800s until the Depression years, the area that now comprises Brighton State Park was buzzing with railroad men and loggers. This was thanks to a train that ran between Montreal, Canada and Portland, Maine on the Grand Trunk Railroad (not to be confused with the classic rock band, Grand Funk Railroad). But pumping some Grand Funk Railroad through your headphones while exploring this now remote wilderness could be the recipe for the best day ever.
