This pristine and remote half acre of paradise is nestled between three hard and soft wooded lots set on the farther side of Peacham's Hidden Gem of Martin's Pond. The pond, which houses a Loon sanctuary, is situated on the back side of the expansive Groton State Forest, underneath the Looming Beauty of Devil's Hill.  Remote Camping at its finest, campers will have access to a rustic out house and solar shower, as well as the clean waters of the pond for their use. Two Kayaks, with paddles and adult life vests are available for use on-site. Life jackets must be worn at all times. Please message for details. A small Shed on property can be accessed if dry storage space is needed. Firewood (one bundle & kindling) and fire pit will be provided. If you would like additional firewood during your stay, please use the "add-on" feature and select how many bundles of wood you would like. Pets are also welcome, but please review the pet-deposit under "add-ons."  Campers are expected to bring their own accommodations: Tent, Sleeping Bag, pad, cooking stove/ fuel, etc. For bikers and backpackers, the extensive back roads of Peacham, VT as well as the hiking of Devil's Hill and other parts of Groton State Forrest should provide ample space for discovery. Not to mention the pond itself for boating enthusiasts.  Currently, power and cell service are non existent on the property. Quiet camping generators are not discouraged so long as they are not in use during quiet hours. Just remember that Cell service is SEVERELY limited and you're encouraged to download any media prior to arrival. If at any time you need our assistance the closest signal is the interstate. If you require a more tailored experience, we can make arrangements to meet you at your arrival to ensure a smooth transition to the campsite. Bear that in mind when visiting the pond during peak season periods, and most holidays and weekends.  Motor Boats, Neighboring campers, and other outdoor enthusiasts may also be occupying the environment and The Alcove at Martin's Pond makes no guarantee of the specific degree of remoteness and solitude one may experience while staying at the pond. Typically the lowest trafficked times on the pond are the shoulder months (April- early May/ late September-October, as well as mid-week during Summer months)

The Alcove at Martin's Pond
We had a terrific time! Weather was great and the lake was just what we were looking for. The hosts are very accommodating and provide a lot of items. There is about a 100 yard walk down to the campsite area. Great hiking and walking trails in the area.

The Alcove at Martin's Pond
Amazing little spot in one of our favorite areas of Vermont! Such a treat to be right on Martin's Pond..the area directly in front of the lake is even nice and sandy. The loons are also very active which was amazing!!

The Alcove at Martin's Pond
A nice, private camp spot by the water. Appreciated the tent platform and shed with amenities. Price is a bit over the top for what it is though.

The campsite is so lovely! Beautiful pond, birds singing, sky full of stars - and it’s all for you, because the site is super private. We stayed for two nights and definitely be back!
