Since Gunlock was first settled, in 1857, seven generations of Leavitt’s have been stewards of land along the Santa Clara River. It has served the people in many ways. Sorghum, alfalfa, tomatoes, and a large orchard have grown here. Hunters have been hosted and guided. We have raised cows, sheep, pigs, horses, donkeys, and mules. Furnishing rock products for construction and landscaping has been rewarding. We clear dead fall to provide firewood for fireplaces and campers. As nature’s hand continually blesses us, we are able to bless others in sharing our little bit of heaven. Many campers have enjoyed this ideal location, with a myriad of outdoor activities to choose from. We hope you, too, will enjoy your experience here.
