There are 20 acres to dry camp, so getting back away from traffic, or close to the water are options.

This is a private driveway in a great location in Big Cottonwood Canyon. The driveway is long and surrounded by aspen, abutting the "old" unused house on my property, so it is private. Although near the main road, the site feels private. You are less than 1 minute walk to Big Cottonwood Creek, and there is hiking out the door in multiple directions, as well as easy biking to Solitude Resort. As a bonus, you are 1/4 mile from Silver Fork Lodge if you get a hankering for a prepared meal.
Please note that there are NO DOGS allowed in Big or Little Cottonwood canyons. There is a high fine if so. So this is not an appropriate spot to bring your four-legged friends unfortunately.

There are two locations to camp. One is close to the house and has hookups, the other is West of the house in pastures with no hookups. You will be surrounded by beauty and animals. Most sites have air conditions or fans, as well as heaters in season. 110 power is at each site...

Overview
About
This wilderness area stretches for about 170 miles across southern Utah. It's the largest national forest in the state. Despite the name, not everywhere is suitable for trees. Pinyon pine and juniper grow well in low to mid-elevations. Some canyons are dry as a bone.
The forest defines the boundary between the Great Basin to the south and the Colorado River. The well-defined boundary produces spectacular scenery found nowhere else. Consider a climb to Blue Bell Knoll on Boulder Mountain.
The knoll is the highest elevation around at 11,322 feet above sea level. The mountain top is flat and covers 70 square miles. It's the highest timbered plateau in North America. Boulder Mountain has hundreds of small lakes for an afternoon dip on a hot summer day.
Camping usually exists near lakes or reservoirs for fishing and watersports. RV sites have electrical and water hook-ups. Historic guard stations serve as cabins.
